Kevin has always loved Yosemite and has been going there for as long as he can remember. I, on the other hand, formed my love affair with Yosemite much later in life, only over the last several years. I swear though, with each visit Yosemite takes a little more of my heart and I find myself counting the days until I return. No matter how many times I go I always find new and unique images, even in familiar scenes. Take this elm in Cook's Meadow. Anyone who has ever visited Yosemite knows this tree. Its as much a part of the fabric of this place as the granite walls and waterfalls that make it an icon. I have photographed this tree so many times over the years and always find a new take on it. This was taken on my most recent visit and what I love so much about a backlit scene like this is that there are so many interpretations one can have of the same scene depending on what their intended vision is. This is my vision and it represents the way I felt on this morning. Everything new and fresh and awash in light. This was one of the really special mornings spent in Yosemite!
