This is hands down one of the prettiest books I own 😱😍😍 I never meant to buy it because I've already read so many retellings and translations of the myths from the Edda, that I didn't think Gaiman could add something new to it. But when I won @scorpiobookdreams ' giveaway and was allowed to pick any book from Bookdepository I just knew I had to get that one, even if it's just for its cover πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ so this was definitely a cover buy but I'm still excited to see how Gaiman's style of telling the myths differs from those I've read so far πŸ™Š

QOTD: favourite mythology?

Norse, I've read more Norse mythology than any other. In fact, I bought this book just because Neil Gaiman + beautiful cover πŸ’• I have bought a copy of Mythos by Stephen Fry this year to brush up on my Greek mythology though which I haven't read since school! 😊 - 9 months ago

Gorgeous photo! ✨ I own this book as well, but haven’t read it yet! Neil Gaiman is one of my favourite authors though and if anyone can retell Norse Mythology, it’d definitely be him! - 9 months ago

So glad I’m finally doing it! Ah I see! Well I can’t wait to read that as well! That has the background history right? - 9 months ago

@lamppost_reads yep I was anxious about reading his books as well, especially because I was never a huge fan of the movies but I just love him 😍 I actually read the Silmarillion before I read anything else by him even though people usually say to read it at last πŸ˜‚ I usually also hate lengthy descriptions but his don't bother me at all πŸ™ŠπŸ™Š - 9 months ago
