MashaAllah what a breath of fresh air Aisha, one of my favourite Pakistani actresses, has been during her wedding celebrations... Completely shaking up the traditional looks and expected colour themes which are stereotypical for the mehndi, baraat, and walima ceremonies... Celebrities, with a huge fan following, carry just as huge a social responsibility and I feel Aisha who has no shortage of money has made an excellent statement using fashion for the new generation of Pakistanis... Many of todays brides, put themselves, their families and their inlaws under a huge financial strain to keep up with the current wedding trends of electrifying bridal outfits decked with diamantes costing a few thousand £££s, layers and layers of contouring and heavy makeup, extravagent hair styles, matching jewellery and accessories and intricate lace like henna... Aisha has shown how uneccessary alot of what we are used to seeing is by keeping it classy with minimal jewls, subtle embroideries, natural makeup and hair, and simple henna too... An overall classy look on each day which proves Coco Chanels famous words, 'simplicity is the keynote of all true elelgance...'
