Vacations (and other outings) are a huge test of my limits and anxieties. This kid is ALWAYS on the go. I love his spirit and energy, but it can get me really on edge when out and about. It’s especially bad lately as we can’t break the new-ish fingers in the mouth habit. I love having him experience new things, but sometimes I just want to keep us in a giant bubble. For me it’s a constant work in progress between letting him exercise independence and also staying safe. I’m hoping it gets easier as he gets older and more whole-heartedly grasps his allergies. He was an absolute champ at our one dinner out tonight, so I know what we’re doing is helping. And of course, no matter what we always have at least two doses of epinephrine with us. Always, always, always. .

@allergynormality Oh gosh. We had a very short phase of licking things. I feel your pain. Sometimes those are the moments when my freak outs are far more external than I’d like them to be, it is so tough. Just want our littles safe ❤️ - 3 months ago

I have the same issue! I hope when his fingers aren’t always in the mouth that I will relax a bit. My little one will actually just randomly put his tongue on something and I have internal freak outs. 😱😳 - 3 months ago

I hate the fingers in the mouth habit. My daughter started doing that at about 3. - 3 months ago
