I made this famous traditional dish from Kedah, a Northern state in Malaysia. It is known as Pek Nga (also known as Lempeng Kelapa which is a traditional coconut pancake) and is usually eaten with fish curry. I made chicken curry instead. This dish is usually served during breakfast but it is quite common to find Pek Nga eaten at any time of the day. The pancake is a mixture of wheat flour, grated fresh coconut, coconut milk, a little sugar and salt to taste.
The fruits you see here are known as duku langsat (Lansium parasiticum) and they are in season now. (swipe for more photos)
