We have to really start thinking about alternatives for the useless packaging of foods. Untill we, as consumers, make it clear that we don’t want to use single-use plastic anymore, they’ll keep producing and using it for products. I’ve already seen products being packaged in biodegradable plastic, or products that are marked instead of packaged, like this organic ginger @jumbo
. But seeing carrots being individually wrapped in plastic doesn’t really make sense, and shows how much work there’s still to do. In the end, we’re poisoning the planet, animals, and ourselves. I’m working on a post about the basics of avoiding useless waste. What you can do now? Be a bit more conscious about the products you buy, make your own food (f.e. cookies, sauces, soups), buy in bulk, bring your own bags, and try to visit a farmers market whenever you can. Every step, no matter how small, makes a difference. 🌱🌎🥙💚✨

I got the opportunity to make a drawing for the vegan sushi brand ‘Ima’, based in London. I’m starting to get the hang of my digital art program. Ima means ‘now’ in Japanese, and the time is NOW to change the way we are doing things before it’s too late. They sell amazing looking vegan sushi in biodegradable plastic boxes!!😱 Whenever you’re in London, make sure to check them out❤️

How my kitchen looks after Saturday’s Organic Farmer’s Market💚 I’ve noticed most of the products there really taste better than the ones from the regular stores. Probably because it’s grown on a smaller scale, and that it comes from from a real, nutrient rich ground🥦. I saw a graph📉 which depicted a decline in the nutritional value of our vegetables from the 80’s till now with like 70%😱 Buying from these local farmers supports them🚜, you use less plastic AND the food contains more nutrients💕. Perfect!✨

. You are beautiful no matter what your skin looks like, but I’m so grateful for the healing and beautifying effects plants have on our body. So many people get rid of their acne, fatigue, and even depression by changing their lifestyle, by changing their diet. The solution is not a pill, but LIFESTYLE: What we put in and on our bodies, the thoughts we have, the music we listen to, exercise, breathing properly, etc. All these little things make up our wellbeing, our quality of life. I eat and live the way I do because it makes me feel powerful, strong, and at my best! This gives me time to work on the things I love. I used to be exhausted and anxious all the time, eating foods that did not support my health, not choosing for myself, thinking negative thoughts... Choosing for myself was the best thing I’ve ever done, and still a work in process every day. Take care of yourself, be kind to yourself and see how much your life will change❤️
This is what I live for, this world is beautiful❤️ We can make a choice with every bite we take and every item we buy if we’re preserving this beautiful planet, or destroying her. Be mindful about your actions, and don’t ever think that 1 person can’t make a difference, because you can.

Today is a Full Moon🌕 in Pisces♋️, in Amsterdam at 13:56. The moon this month has a duality theme: on one hand the energy from Virgo, a perfectionistic energy, and on the other hand Pisces’ energy, a dreamer, a free and creative energy. Virgo thinks it’s never good enough, Pisces excepts where you are now. Today I want to focus on and identify all the ways my perfectionistic, critic self has stopped me from expressing myself creatively and in a free way. We often don’t do something that we really want to because we’re afraid, it’s not the norm, or not the ‘perfect’ timing. Today, write down all your dreams, and see how one way or another, you’ve been standing in your own way. Realise that you’re worthy of all your dreams, and that you have the (creative) energy to achieve them. Spend time nurturing your creative energy today, be it drawing, dancing, singing or baking cookies😊🍪. Relax and treat yourself for everything you’ve already achieved. You are enough the way you are now. ❤️ This is the last full moon for this summer, who else can’t wait for fall season??🥧🍁🍂🍄

supermarket Gelderlandplein: A new special vegan🌱 section. I especially went to this supermarket to see the products, but I was a bit disappointed.. I’d imagined a lot of new vegan products, but many products they already had were just put toghether, and not even all of them. It’s a nice concept though, and probably nice for new vegans, and to introduce people to veganism, but I won’t be going here for pre-cut vegetables, soup, 1 vegan cheese brand and the best one: vegan butter with a steak on the packaging😂 Maybe I’ll come back when there’s more to choose from, and when all shelves are filled, but it’s a start🤔 What I want to try though are the carrot sausages from @knakwortel

From all the countries I’ve been to, France has a special place in my heart. Warm long summer nights filled with the smell of blossoming flowers, strolling through little villages, freshly made baguettes, drinking coffee on sunny terraces and it’s rich flora and fauna. Oh France, how I love you❤️

The most important thing is that you do what you would like to do the most at this moment. The worst feeling isn’t failing, but the question ‘What If?’ Ask yourself if you’re really living your life for you, or for someone else, depending on others’ opinions on how you should do things. There is no right or wrong, and the most valuable thing isn’t the outcome, but the process. #magickalveganlife
I can’t believe it has already been a year since I’ve finished high school. Time really flies. I’m so grateful for all the amazing people I’ve met so far and that have inspired me, the places I’ve been able to travel to, the new things I’ve learned and my growth in many areas. I love how I’m the same, but simultaneously changing every moment, towards a better version of myself. Life is beautiful, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me❤️ Remember that every day, every minute is a chance for you to start over, to work on yourself, to do the things that truly interest you and to design the life YOU want. I love making granola myself. A few months ago when it was colder, I felt like making it every week✨ It’s delicious on its own as a snack or to upgrade your smoothie bowl(combi of sweet and savory is so yum). There are a lot of ways to make granola, but the one I liked the most is made with:
Oats, sunflower seeds🌼, pumpkin seeds, almonds, goji berries(I still had some left that I didn’t use for anything else)/or raisins🍇, cinnamon, and coconut flakes🥥. Put in the oven on 160ºC for 20-25 minutes(watch them carefully or until golden brown). Make sure to add the berries/flakes AFTER everything has been in the oven. You can also use any other type of nut, seeds, grains(f.e. buckwheat) or sweetner(maple syrup burned quickly, so when I used it I diluted it with water). What ingredients do you use for your granola?

A nice 2.5(I think) mile ride around town last night that was unrecorded. I think it's a good idea to not always record things, to avoid reducing your fitness routine to nothing but a bunch of numbers. .
Don't get me wrong, fitness trackers and the numbers they provide can be very helpful for monitoring progress. .
However, the two biggest problems obsessing over numbers may lead to are: .
1) Pointless comparisons with other people. This is especially detrimental if you're comparing yourself with pro or more experienced athletes. At its worst, this can lead to injury, emotional problems, or burnout. Everyone is on their own journey, everyone has their own unique biology, so comparisons are usually pointless. .
2) Focusing too much on numbers can take away from the enjoyment of an activity. In other words, the objective aspects of fitness, however useful they are, can distract from the subjective aspect(such as finding something enjoyable), which should be just as important. .
Again, I'm not saying you should not track things or have goals, just that sometimes you may be better off ignoring them. .
Do you sometimes become obsessed with numbers? Have you found it beneficial to run or exercise occasionally without a tracker? .
