this style was called a tuxedo coat at the time--a coat with a long furred turnback collar from neck to hem. this one is chocolate mouton sheep, with dove grey wool. .
i love the language in old ads--from Cambrooke, Jr., it's a "furred flatterer" in a Duvetyn wool suede, which just means a fabric with a slight nap. [black duvetyn(e) is mostly used today in tv and theatre productions bc it is durable, opaque, and absorbs light.]
