“If it involves mountains, hiking, tall trees, and hills, count me in!”🙋🏻♀️
Day number one of your thirty-fourth year spent wandering through beautiful Northern California. Cheers to another orbit around the sun exploring trails, cry-laughing and spending time with those that mean so much. I love you to the moon and back @bertschek

Walking down fresh running rivers, scrambling down the sides of waterfalls and through over grown shrubs my little explorers heart was singing loud today. Following our desire to see and experience the little gems of wilderness we found some amazing off the beaten track swimming holes and beaches.
The best adventures are the unplanned. Now off on my road trip xx .
Some people were born for adventure. They’re the ones who say yes to trying anything once. They immerse themselves in new cultures, support local and respect traditions. They say what time are you picking me up when you say you want to head on a road trip.
They meet new people from all walks of life and connect through stories and experiences. They travel through backroads and trek mountains because the road less taken shows a new beauty yet to be discovered. They wake up early to catch sunrise and stay out late to see sunset transition to city lights.
They believe in human connection and enriching experiences. They believe in collaboration over competition because two heads are better than one. These are my people.

seriously missing this paradise 🌱
Scurried out of work, enjoyed a killer core workout and am now pondering what adventures I can squeeze in during this warm long weekend.
The next park on our trip was Mount Rainier National Park and one of my personal favorites. The park was established in 1899 as the 5th national park in the country tasked with protecting the most heavily glaciated peak in the continental US- Mt. Rainier. We were so grateful for the gorgeous weather we had while visiting because usually much of the mountain is covered with clouds. Most of our days were warm although we did have one morning in the 30s so we were glad to have had warm clothing to layer. Between the alpine meadows and the glacier covered mountain peeking out from behind clouds, this is a must visit park.
Sol Duc Falls is another kid friendly trail at Olympic National Park. 1.5 miles round trip with minimal elevation changes. Owen walked the whole way. It was however very crowded and we did see lots of dogs which aren’t allowed on NPS trails. I saw lots of berries on the side of the trail as well!
Olympic National Park has 3 distinct ecosystems and we spent a lovely morning hiking in one of them, the Hoh Rain Forest. The trails around the visitors center are perfect for little legs- short and plenty of flat ground. We passed some creeks and small water falls as well! So lush and green with lots of moss on the trees.
How I feel after officially booking my first international trip of 2019!
In March I’ll be doing my first ever international solo trip to New Zealand. If you have any recommendations, please send them my way! Current plans for the rest of 2019 include Mexico, France, and Italy (but hopefully a few more countries will be added to the list 💗). If you’re traveling to any of these countries, let me know and I’d love to take photos of you and your significant other! See more of my wedding work at @catmurphyphotography
I don’t really love being in every picture. I like being behind the camera, more. When I was little I went through this multiple-month phase where I’d set my alarm for five minutes before the sunrise 🌅. I’d roll out of bed 🛏, pick up my disposable camera, tip toe across the house 🏠 to our sun room, snap a photo 📸 and go back to bed. Waiting for that film 🎞 to be developed was always the longest five days of my life. And I miss it. While we’re at it, I miss waiting in suspense every week to watch the next episode of a TV 📺 show with my family 👨👩👧👧, commercials and all. I don’t “do it for the gram,” either. That phrase makes me cringe. I do it for the moments I spent in awe at the climax of this hike, ☝🏽. I told my friends I’d catch up and I sat there for a few moments, simultaneously weepy, giddy, shivering and wind blown, taking it all in. I do it for the moment after I caught up with them when I laughed so hard recollecting a particular Parks and Rec scene that I fell right over (maybe also because snowshoes ❄️👠 are tough to maneuver and beer 🍺 at 11k ft, idk 🤷🏼♀️). I do it to remind me there’s more than the day to day I (we) so easily get sucked 🔄 into. And I’d live life the exact same way if it was still 1999 and all I had was that disposable Kodak camera 📷 and empty photo album pages waiting to be filled. But if I’m going to be here anyways, with brands I love and views not everyone gets to see, I guess I figure I might as well share the beauty and try and say some things that mean something. ⛰🌲✨

A great example by @kyle28000
After a year of living in a tent under the stars, out of our Land Cruiser and under other people’s roofs, I’m so freaking excited to have a place of our own to call home again.
While life on the road has been one of the best experiences to date it doesn’t mean it’s easy. There are loads of positives that outweigh the pitfalls but after awhile you just miss the comfort of “home”. And this mama is ready to nest. I can’t wait to show you guys our new casa and life in Nashville. Have you been? Tell me your favorite things to do and spots to eat in the city!
