happy M(oon)day yogis 🌙
Some of us may be feeling the highs of the powerful Full Moon this weekend! Or perhaps the lows of Blue Monday - in the UK & cooler climates, its reportedly one of the most difficult days of the year, feeling the post-holiday blues & the dark & cold of winter.
I'm here to bring you a little light & inspiration to your day & your yoga practice!
Here, on Koh Phangan, is one of the world's craziest Full Moon Parties... Which I have skipped. For the third consecutive time. To eat takeout & get a good night's sleep. And legitimately I feel no fomo. I woke up this morning to the effects of this intense lunar energy... many messages from friends & students who are having challenging times. My heart is with you. May you find balance & happiness. ✨
Life is always changing & challenging. To those of you who are already struggling with their yoga goals in 2019... first off, I invite you to be compassionate with yourself. Personally, the more I self-critique, the less I can transform. Your yoga practice needs to be something you look forward to (rather than something you judge yourself for!)
I also have a little guide I've put together for you to help motivate & inspire your home yoga practice. It includes:
→ the benefits of creating a home yoga practice
→ creating time & space for your yoga, & getting creative with props
→ setting intention & creating daily rituals
→ creating a check-in practice, becoming aware of breath, body, & mind
→ sequencing tools & tips your teachers use to create a balanced practice
→ templates to design a yoga practice you LOVE
I actually wrote this a few years ago & so far have only shared it with private clients! Its inspired by one of my amazing student's who once told me that he felt like he "knew the music notes" (ie, the poses), but wasn't sure "how to compose the music" (or create sequences)! I hope this becomes a practical tool to support your home yoga practice in 2019!
