Breaking out of the vicious circle called "depression" is tedious & ongoing ... I feel down & don't want to see anyone, positive thinking is impossible ... I was taught to be pessimistic ... To change my thinking & therefore the way I feel doesn't come natural ... I have to make myself develop new positive habits ... After waking up I ought to focus on something I m grateful for ... While depressed finding gratitude doesn't come easy ... But it is a prerequisite to make it outta the rabbit hole ... I am reading yet another book & it was interesting to see the connection between isolating & not feeling any better ... Trauma and stress play a biological role in loneliness, avoidant personality, and social phobias. Those who have been traumatized are statistically more likely to encounter future trauma and stress.
All of this stress creates a flood of cortisol because the body feels threatened. One of the negative side effects of excess cortisol is that it reduces production of oxytocin, the hormone involved in fostering emotional intimacy in relationships & having the desire to be close to others.
You may have heard of oxytocin in discussions about sexual arousal. But recent findings show that it is an emotionally healing chemical as well, especially with respect to relationship interactions. Having sufficient oxytocin helps with learning how to trust and connect with others. The hormone also lowers anxiety.
Oxytocin is released from the pituitary gland in response to touch, such as hugging or getting a massage. It’s not limited to human contact, either: oxytocin is released when you stroke your pet animal, too.
Scientists consider oxytocin to be essential for bonding with someone else. So touching, holding, being massaged, and being held can help heal avoidant and isolation tendencies. One way to overcome loneliness and increase your oxytocin levels is to adopt a pet. Another is to ask your trusted friends for hugs, since hugging increases oxytocin levels.

I drink it because it’s been proven to improve your mood, reduce anxiety and help with calmness. I also find it doesn’t make my hands shake and don’t tend to crash like when I drink coffee! -
It hasn’t got the most pleasant of flavours.. in fact it tastes a bit like seaweed! I only use half a teaspoon to make a large cup. I whisk the powder with a splash of cold water to make a paste before filling the rest of the mug with hot water. Otherwise it can be a bit lumpy and unpleasant! -
If I’m in a rush, I use the same method but just make it a shots worth of water and down it quickly. -

Ma dernière pesée avec vous datant du 22juin était de 88.8kg et ma pesée personnel avant les vacances était de 90.2kg donc ça fait 🤔 une reprise de beaucoup trop 😂
Alors je me donne pour objectifs de revenir à ma pesée du 88.8kg pour cet anniversaire 🎂
Donc double objectifs m'habiller en blanc en me sentant à l'aise et dégonfler ce ventre de mal bouffe 🙄

vanilla cake in a cup was the perfect little snack for my husband and I while Odin napped (sorry bud 🤣). I made my own coconut whipped frosting to go on top! Recipe⬇️
➡️Put a can of full fat coconut milk in the fridge overnight. In the morning, scoop out the cream on top and put it in your mixer. Mix until well blended. I added 1 tsp of vanilla, a splash of maple syrup, and some beet powder for color. Mix again until well combined. I let it sit in the fridge for a couple hours before using it. But you can use it right away. Tastes SO good and has a more whipped cream consistency.💗🍰

section at the gym and I was like “hell yea I’m gonna incorporate this with my step ups!” 😆 💪🏽 So I made it a little more challenging by lifting up that knee as i go into the @viprpro
shoulder press which forces me to engage my core to stabilize myself as I have one leg on that box 📦

Food is a HUGE part of healing in Ayurvedic medicine. What you eat, you become. Our food gets broken down into our cells and then it literally TURNS into our organs. THIS IS the importance of food. ▪
How you eat, you feel. But sadly even when you think you are eating a healthy diet, it might not be the right diet for you.
What I love about Ayurveda is that it never tells a person how they should eat FOREVER. It looks at the current imbalances and treats them so that you can enjoy a variety of foods depending on your current imbalances. ▪
For example, my high level of Pitta & Vata means that I am to incorporate specific foods into my diet for three weeks - until the symptoms subside & then I can slowly reincorporate my favourite foods & see how they make me feel. ▪
This is one of the recipes I was sent, it is a lentil, coconut & spinach curry. I used a tiny bit of turmeric, curry powder, ginger & salt. It was specifically made so the spices would help to balance my current constitution. ▪
Using herbs and spices to help heal has been a practice that dates back to before books were written. It is important to get yourself to a state of health where you simply don't need to worry about food anymore, and can use your energy elsewhere. ▪
That is my aim.
UPDATE: medicine got slightly better this afternoon. (Didn't nearly throw up when drinking - progress!) ▪

Training doesn’t happen in a vacuum. On top of ensuring we have adequate energy and motivation, we also need to figure out how to logistically fit a run in between work, relationships, and life demands.
The good news: taking a 5-minute helicopter view of your life each week can help you re-establish your priorities instead of feeling like you’re at the mercy of your training, schedule, and demands. .
"The Wheel of Life" is a tool that life coaches pass around, but it's also really helpful for running programs, too. It can help you assess your balance by looking as each aspect of your life in turn. The entire circle represents your overall life and each piece represents a different area of focus. .
It can be a visual representation of the way your life is currently compared with the way you'd ideally like it to be, and bringing these differences to your conscious mind can be an empowering practice if you 1) nonjudgmentally assess the results and 2) choose to act on your insight.
Feel free to make your own Wheel of Life this week:
Identify the key areas of focus in your life.
Rank how satisfied you feel in each area from 1 to 10 (1 is you couldn’t be feeling any worse, and 10 is excellent.) Connect the dots.
You can’t necessarily live at a “10” in all areas of life, but identify where you feel lopsided, and determine 2 actions you can take this week to make improvements in the areas in which you’re dissatisfied. (For example, if you have limited time but want to improve your social satisfaction and your running satisfaction this week, you might consider asking a friend to go on a run with you.)
Used on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis (or right before/after a training cycle!), The Wheel of Life can help you build positive momentum and make course corrections as needed. (As always, progress over perfection!)
