While reading a certain persons memoir, I stumbled upon a very interesting quote by an even more interesting person Edwin Shneidman. Interesting person given his area and field of expertise ‘Suicides’. And he quotes. ‘Dying is the one thing —perhaps the only thing —in life that you don’t have to do. Stick around for long enough and it will be done for you.’ We named this fellow the ‘Asian paradise flycatcher’. Irony. Could its beauty be more real? Or does it look so surreal to us to have given it the adjective ‘paradise’? Only if we acknowledged that being earthly bound was more beautiful and real than wanting to be paradise bound which in all probabilities is a hoax.
