Let's talk Instagram curated accounts.
They are beautiful. The imagery is perfect; it’s like looking at a beautifully glossy magazine and inspires feelings of wanting or needing that product or service.
I’m admittedly envious of those perfect accounts - they’ve had plenty of time spent on them and they just look so bloody good.
However, I feel that the real me, the authentic me, Black Goose, me - they’re all wrapped up into one - is more than trying to post content that fits the theme, rather than is relevant or useful.
Some accounts manage this beautifully and their pages are beautiful, glossy, expensive looking - they’ve got that magic about them that I struggle with - mainly because I don’t have the time, or the patience and if I paid someone to do it for me, it wouldn’t be authentic... I just have to keep reminding myself, Instagram is not real life.
If I had more time, maybe I’d be able to get on to of my social media presence and curate my feed. But I don’t. I have a load of clients whose businesses and websites and strategy I’m working on. I have a huge campaign I’m trying to put together for a cause I’m massively passionate about, and I have a family of three children and a cat that seem to demand feeding all the bloody time and quite frankly, I have to prioritise.
So, this account might not be beautiful, it might not be fully of super glossy images and flat lays that I drool over on Pinterest, it might not appeal to everyone, but from now on it’s going to be 1000% real. No forced content because it fits with the them I’m trying to employ, no putting stuff to one side because it might not look right, no forced quotes, just real. Just me and my small web design business that hopes to bring joy and do good into a world that most definitely needs it.
So, if you’re struggling with your social media because you want to curate your feed with a theme, placement, colour, imagery, then stop. If it doesn’t feel natural to you, that’s not going to increase your engagement, it’s not going to make you happy, and all it will do it prevent you from being yourself. And that’s what people want, curated or real or a bit of both.
You shouldn’t be the one printing documents and scanning them back just to sign them!

1) Adobe Fill&Sign: This is a personal favorite, and it’s honestly very efficient, which is why it’s number 1. 😁😁
It’s completely free to use, you can create your signature and initials, and sign every document you need to!

: This is another really good, and user friendly app for digital signatures. It’s number 2 on my list because it only offers a free plan for up to three documents a month. If you want to sign more documents in a month, you’d have to subscribe for about $13 a month.
: This is actually the first digital signature app I ever used, and is the most popular eSignature solution in the market.
However, it’s number 3 on my list because it offers a 30 day free trial, after which you can subscribe to the standard plan which is about $25 per month.
I was considering this, but I discovered Adobe Fill&Sign soooo, the rest is history. 😂🤷♀️

Is your content speaking to your ideal client?
Do you know who your ideal client is?
Sometimes the best way to begin figuring this out is to start with the types of people you don’t want to work with. Once you’re clear on what you don’t want you’ll be able to more clearly define who you’re looking for.
From there, you’ll need to get very clear on the specifics.
Is your ideal client male or female?
How old are they?
Where do they live, spend their free time, where do they work?
Does your client have children, or pets?
Are they active within their community?
Do you see them jogging around the neighbourhood?
Now, think about where you’d run into this person, is it outside your local coffee shop or are they more of a Starbucks kind of person?
Can you chat with them after spin class or perhaps find them walking the dog in park?

If you’re clear on who you want to work with it’s much easier to find that person, speak their language, and market to them.
