“Success is something you attract by the person you become.” However you choose to define success, I know the truth of this statement only too well.
I used to live in Mallorca – and I loved it. Everything from the fresh Mediterranean food, to the sun on my face, to the Spanish words rolling off my tongue.
While I was there, I helped run a busy resort office, managed my own car hire office, and organised corporate events.
Business is in my blood.
Family reasons caused me to return to the UK, where I had a long career as a Project Manager in charge of multi-million-pound projects and earning very good money. It felt like I’d hit the jackpot.
However much I loved my job, after several years, resentment clouded everything. The long hours, the pressure, and dissatisfaction of working for someone else.
There was this void inside. I knew it needed to be filled, I just didn’t know how.
Instead of cravings for paella, I had cravings for more time and freedom.
I started searching for the elusive happiness but (there’s always a but) my fear of making the wrong decision led to the best example of procrastination you’ve ever seen.
Instead of filling the void with something meaningful, I ended up working even longer hours, which left me no time to work through my life plan ... and lots of time to delay, delay, delay chasing my dreams.
So, I hired a Coach. And that’s when everything started to change. It helped me put my life in context, see what I was putting on hold (for no good reason), and create a plan for how I could actually achieve all the things I told myself I wanted but never did anything about.
Before I knew it, I had a Distinction in Creative Writing from the Open University, taken up acting and singing again, wound down my work as a Project Manager, and started two thriving businesses within 18 months.
My life had found momentum.
And my entrepreneurial spark was well and truly ignited.
So I ran even further with it.
Having experienced incredible results from working with a Coach myself – and having a little epiphany at a yoga retreat in Ibiza – I decided to retrain as one. (Continued in the comments ⬇️)
Business 101 for anyone trying to build their brand. Some say under promise and over deliver. I say, just deliver what you say you are going to do. No one is forcing you to make promises you cant keep. But if you tell someone you're going to do it, then do it! Especially when people are relying and depending on you to come through based on your words. .

This isn't strictly financial advice, more how to win at life advice. It's a way to maintain friendships and get promoted at work. And it's pretty simple: If you say you're going to do something, then do it. And on the flip side, if you aren't sure you are going to do something, then don't say you're going to do it.
We've all been on the receiving end of someone who doesn't adhere to this rule. Your college roommate Mike said he was going to pay the internet bill. Well, you know Mike and you're pretty sure the internet is about to get shut off. But if Sarah says she's going to pick you up from the airport, you can be damn sure she'll either be there or be dead. And guess who is going to maintain friendships for longer? And guess who is going to get promoted at work? Sarah. That's who.
It's often tempting to tell people what they want to hear in the moment and commit to something you're not sure about. But when you eventually don't follow through you'll have irreparably damaged your reputation and trustworthiness. So next time someone asks you something, try to "under promise and over deliver". Can you make it to that party on Friday. "Sorry, I'm not sure because I'm still figuring out my schedule this week.". Then boom, you do show up to the delight of your friend and they realize you made them a priority! :)
p.s. I took this picture out of an airplane window. That's Mount Rainier near Seattle over there.

There are those in the marketing world that are more creative (web designers, social media managers... you know who you are 🤩) and those that are the nerdy marketers (Ad management, SEO, Analytics 🤓). I like to believe I’m a hybrid: as an owner of a full-service digital marketing agency, I definitely wear different hats!
Google Analytics, though, whether you love data or not, is SO beneficial for your business if you have a website! This data will help dictate your digital marketing strategy! .
For my fellow small biz owners, I’m going to tell you the top 5️⃣ areas in Google Analytics I always analyze. .
1️⃣. Audience Overview: I like to see how many sessions were on a website, how long is the average session duration, and bounce rate, to name a few areas.
2️⃣. Geography: see which area of the United States (and the world if you’re an internationally-servicing company) you are receiving the most traffic. If you’re targeting one state or a region primarily, I like to compare this month over month.
3️⃣. User flow: I like to see which pages visitors gravitated to most and their flow on the website.
4️⃣. Acquisition overview: which channels are leading visitors to your site the most? Social, Direct, Organic Search, or Referral?
5️⃣. Social media referral: if you market yourself heavily on social media, this is for you! Which platform engages your target audience the most? .
There are many other areas of Google Analytics I like to look at as well but these top 5 are crucial for a good overview into the health of your website and digital marketing strategy.
What data would you like to know to help you understand your target customer better?
I talk more about this in my Stories! 😊

Success doesn't come from winning. It comes from you becoming a winner.
Most people win something at some point but, that doesn't necessarily make them a true winner.
A true winner invests all he or she can into being able to repeat that winning result over and over again.
A true winner evolves from every win and loss. He or she embodies the spirit of success by being the best at what they do while inspiring others to follow.
