Being authentic in your dating and relationships is one of the most important principles I teach my students.
Imagine if personalities were like business brands. Every business has a brand (a personality). Their brand helps you differentiate whether or not this business is a good fit for you, whether you want to work with them or create a relationship with them. But what if their brand was all about just wanting you to like them? Let’s say business X sells motorcycles. They love motorcycles. It’s the core of who they are. One day, they meet you and they really want you as a customer. The problem is, you don’t really like motorcycles. You’re actually more of the horseback riding type.
Business X still really wants your business, so they add horses to their line of products. The problem is, they don’t know shit about horses. In fact, they don’t even care about horses. They only care that you care about horses. How do you think their relationship will turn out?
This is how most people love. They change their brand to suit a customer that isn’t right for them.
Now, imagine a different senario. A business that has a strong brand that you love BECAUSE of who they are and what they have to sell (offer). They don’t change it when you come around. In fact, you would be upset if they did because you like them exactly how they are.
When we change our “brand” to suit others, to fit in or to be loved - we actually lose the chance to be wildly, authentically adored.

Why I Chose This Picture: He went into a photo booth by himself and my mom and I jumped in at the last shot. When the photos came out, we realized that he didn’t know he was “supposed” to change his expression after each flash. This photo would never be the same if he went by some generic rule. The fact that he didn’t made us love these photos more! ✨Be you. Be loved.✨
