TO BE DESTROYED 7/20/2018💔
Hello, my name is GORDA 🌻
My animal id is #34642
I am a desexed female tan dog at the #Manhattan
Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about #5years
I came in as a #stray
AT RISK - She has displayed aggressive behaviors towards both handlers and other dogs. #SCARED
INTAKE - While trying to get her into the kennel she became extremely #nervous
and would bark heavily, possibly dog reactive.
History : Stray. Owner was identified but HEALTH HISTORY NOT OBTAINED 😤. Subjective: #Alert
in kennel. MANY #wounds
noted on FEET and LEGS.
Observed Behavior: In the kennel, pt BARKS and PACES. When we attempt to leash her, she #evades
the leash, then #grabs
it in her MOUTH and starts PLAYING TUG. A water spray bottle is used to discourage this behavior, but pt does not drop the leash. Eventually we let go of the leash, and she drops her end too and resumes pacing.
SAFER Summary:: Gorda approached the assessor with a #soft
body. She was #social
throughout the assessment, #allowed
ALL handling, and displayed NO concerning behaviors.
PLAYGROUP Summary (1):: 7/16: When Gorda greeted a male dog at the fence she displays a soft body and low tail #wag
. Due to some handling concern, she is not a candidate for off leash interaction. Gorda should be allowed time to decompress outside of a shelter environment - future introductions should be conducted at a slow pace to respectful dogs.
1. Wounds on legs and feet - R/O self-trauma or trauma from kennel, vs. allergies vs. both
