The other day I was watching @rupaulsdragrace
when the contestants were asked to give advice to themselves as children. I was about to do a post similar to that when I saw this post on @theellenshow.
It resonated deeply with me.
I'll instead share all that I would have said to my young self with @naomiwadler
You are beautiful from the top of your head to the soles of your feet. Don't let your perception of yourself be warped by societal norms of what it means to be beautiful. Don't beat yourself up when you don't feel like everything isn't perfect. Reflect on the things, both good and bad, that already makes you, at such a young age the epitome of perfection. Learn to love your imperfections and develop a very deep and meaningful relationship with yourself. Don't let anyone dictate the path that your life will take. Never hand over your power to anyone. You're going to need all your strength to take you through life's challenges so you'll need to give yourself a hug once in a while. Never forget what it is that makes you uniquely you. Love fiercely, laugh loudly, dance like no one's watching, be kind and selfish. Be at peace with yourself while you surf on the waves called life. BTW you are a huge inspiration to a lot of young people and adults, keep striving.
