Sometimes, the most difficult part about healing is finding practical processes that are accessible and sustainable during different seasons of your life. -

Are you ready to start healing?
Recently, several people have reached out to me, all with different versions of the same question: "Can you help me? I am feeling lost and I do not know where to turn. Do you have some advice for me?" I am so humbled that these people trust me enough to share what is on their heart and to trust my advice.
Since this question keeps appearing to me, I've decided to share my answer publicly. Surely if week after week someone comes to me asking, then there are many more suffering quietly, afraid to speak their truths out loud.
When a person is feeling lost and looking for advice, there is almost always one common thread that all of these situations have in common -- the person is looking OUTSIDE of his or herself for happiness. This is the most common way that a person comes to feel broken and lost. He or she has walked a path of life, searching outside of his or herself for happiness. Where do people look for happiness? Many places. In a career. In a relationship. In a material possession (a house, a car, a piece of jewelry). In a goal (when I lose twenty pounds, I'll be happy; when I save $10K I'll be happy). Unfortunately for these seekers, happiness cannot be found in any of these places.
However, many people spend their lives this way. Their eyes are set on the prize, the pursuit of happiness is on. As far as they know, once they get "it," happiness will be theirs. As for what happens next, there are two potential outcomes.
The first outcome is a lifetime spent chasing the happiness phantom. The person spends the rest of his or her life pursuing "it" and when they get it, they pursue the next "it." And on and on it goes. This pattern continues forever and the person mindlessly chases after "things" that they think will bring them happiness until they die.
The second outcome is that a person finally attains "it," whatever it is, and realizes that he or she is still lost and empty. Now they have everything that they ever wanted, but they are still unhappy. This is usually a door, an opportunity for a person to wake up and realize that happiness was never inside any of those things that they were chasing, it was never (continued in comments 👇🏻)
41 days until 2019. 😳
This is the time of year everyone starts to think about resolutions. Did you know most people also decide to throw in the towel on trying to eat healthy…for the rest of the year? Then they try to undo the damage in January. Unfortunately 92% of those resolutions to get back on track fail.
As I look back on my journey the last 4.5 years - changing my nutrition, my mindset and digging deep into myself love, I’ve realized it’s not about setting another resolution or “starting over again.” It’s about taking steps. Yes, sometimes they are backwards and sometimes they are lateral, but it’s all part of the journey.
There are a lot of choices these days for nutrition and so many incredible resources to help you transform your mind and your body. And if you’ve found your groove, that’s awesome! Share it with others, because we are all looking to make positive changes in our wellness. But if you’re still struggling, don’t know where to start, or just need to brainstorm, I’d love to help. Maybe my nutritional lifestyle will be for you, maybe it won’t. But let’s link arms and start figuring it out now - together - so we don’t feel bad about pie, Christmas cookies and failed resolutions. Because it’s all about balance, self-love, grace, and a really freaking awesome journey. .
