Inspired by an array of sounds and feelings, RYNS creates melodically driven ballads and bass fueled tracks sure to shake dance floors. Within the last five years, Broderick has been steadily honing his craft, representing Bloomington, Indiana’s electronic music scene and helping foster a collaborative community of artists. To me, A LOVE LETTER TO YOU 2 had a few gems but it was an underwhelming follow-up to A LOVE LETTER TO YOU. Now with LIFE'S A TRIP Trippie has put together what might very well be his most cohesive project to date.
If you're familiar with his music you know the big grunge influence Trippie has always had with his vocals ranging from soft melodic singing to prolongated screams filled with soul over a range of beats from trap oriented production to more raw, rock inspired production. Those sounds are improved upon in every aspect through most of the album, especially on tracks like WISH, FOREVER EVER, UNDERWATER FLYZONE, BANG! and of course the absolute banger DARK KNIGHT DUMMO.
But don't mistake Trippie for another one of this generation's solely "melodic rappers" as he can also spit bars as previously heard on CAN YOU RAP LIKE ME off of A LOVE LETTER TO YOU and now on this album in cuts like MISSING MY IDOLS and OOMPS REVENGE.
Altough for the most part this album shines and showcases Trippie's ear for melody and versatility it's not free of a few stinkers, wether it be tracks that just aren't good whatsoever such as BIRD SHIT (Yeha, with a title like that what would one expect tbh 😂), or tracks that just felt like throw-aways like UKA UKA and SHAKE IT UP.
All things considered this is a step up from the last album and a step in the right direction for Trippie. There's only room for more improvement and if he continues to provide catchy tunes and further experiment with his vocals then I believe we'll be seeing his name crack even more into the mainstream and become bigger in the years to come.

🎪 ASTR🌏W⭕RLD 🚀 is a step into the mind of Travis Scott in the form of a twisted theme park adventure in wich the listener is invited to try 17 different attractions that invoke all sorts of the trademark La Flame traits that in the past have defined his uniquely experimental sound.
Even before stepping into this world the two cover artworks give you an idea for what you're about to experience. A duality, the innocent fun of the daytime and then when the night comes, the wilder side of things, the darkness. To me that alone, wether it be supposed to simply represent the regular and deluxe editions or be it to fit the concept of Astroworld, perfectly describes the overall feel of the album with the range of spacey and dreamy moments in contrast to the more moody and eerie sounding moments. (To not get all over the place on reasons why I've fallen in love with this album I'll attempt to be brief on the highlights and not much or at all on negatives since I'm biased af 😅👌)
The way Travis crafted this piece of work is masterful in mainly two things: track placement and usage of features. A 58 minute album with 17 tracks with a lot of features can be exhausting for some but when it manages to stay interesting every step of the way then you know it's got a good flow about it and Travis manages it with those two points. The diversity of vibes and the way some features get teased in the background or little tid bits in one track and then get highlighted on the next is genuinely brilliant and makes the listening experience much more cohesive.
In many ways this is the true successor to RODEO and while I'd say surely not as groundbreaking, it sustains the characteristics that made Travis standout in the first place next to his contemporaries, not only as a rapper but as a producer too.
