Charcoal Tofu with Enoki Mushrooms and Spinach, MAN FU YUAN Singapore
An interesting-looking dish with comforting flavors - the dish was still enjoyable but the texture of the tofu was not as good as the one at this other restaurant in Singapore, which had a more interesting play on the taste, texture and quality of the tofu. 3/5

1 cup quinoa
1 cup pistachio nuts
1 cup pomegranate seeds (you'll need a whole pom!)
1 cup parsley, chopped
1/2 red onion, diced
For the Dressing:
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
Juice from 1/2 lemon
1 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
1. Cook quinoa in a saucepan of boiling water (2 cups) for 15 minutes, or until tender.
2. Set aside in fridge to cool.
3. Combine remaining ingredients to quinoa and toss to combine.
4. Add extra Virgin olive oil, lemon and balsamic vinegar to a screw top jar and secure lid. Shake to combine.
5. Add dressing to salad prior to serving. •
1. Combine honey, oil, garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
2. Place salmon in large shallow dish and pour over marinade. Cover and place in fridge for 1-2 hours, basting occasionally.
3. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Line a large baking dish with baking paper.
4. Place salmon in baking dish and add remaining marinade.
5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked to your liking.
6. Transfer the salmon to a serving tray and serve alongside quinoa salad #getyourmaninthekitchen

O zamandan beri annem çavdarı çok severdi, zaman içinde hep eskiden aldığı çavdar ekmeğinin ne kadar lezzetli olduğundan bahsederdi... Ben ekmek yapmaya başladığımdan beri hep çavdar yapmışım, annem için yapıyordum, hiç güzel çavdar ekmeği yok dediği için , inatçıyım ya “ ne demek yok ! “ diye çavdar yapardım....
O zamanlar küçük kalıbım olmadığı için büyük et tenceresinde pişirirdim ,2 kiloluk bazen daha da büyük ekmek olurdu....

Whipped up a quick & easy Thai Sambal Fried Rice, made feisty with a punch of freshly ground chilli.
Topped w/ shredded egg omelette, white onion (didn't have the purple ones) and fresh mango (forgot the cashew nuts). A simple, yummy rice to go with other dishes and hot Korean tea.
*Nostalgia* : I used to order this fried rice, chicken & shrimp coconut rillettes & crispy rice crackers, pomelo salad with shrimp, tom yum goong, stuffed chicken wings, crispy wonton pad thai chicken and iced coffee at the < Coffee Stars by Dao > café-restaurant when it was still open at Wisma Atria. A pretty place then, to relax on a day off and enjoy some good Thai cooking, with company in a cosy, trendy setting. Suddenly recalling this makes me happy

Dinner time... French cuisine tonight with mustard chicken thighs and penne. Yumm 😋. I came across this dish, on one of my Insta scrolling adventures. It looked so tasty that I knew I had to try it and went searching for the recipe. Apparently the original recipe is from a book called “My Paris Kitchen” by David Lebovitz. I’ve made this dish a couple of times before, with rice and veggies, and really enjoy it. Some notes... the recipe calls for using bacon which, of course, I do not eat. Rather than miss out completely on a great recipe I just made some modifications to fit my preferences instead. I skipped the bacon step and just started with marinading and browning the chicken. Then I caramelized the onions in the same oil, seasoned it, added wine and the browned chicken. Afterwards I removed the chicken added cream and mustard to finish the sauce then added the penne. I am pleased with how everything turned out.

Results... freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for soccer school. All the kids loved the cookies and happily enjoyed the treat after another morning of hard work. And next week there is no soccer school, so I’m glad that I was able to bake this for them before the week off. 🙂⚽️⚽️⚽️💗

Dinner time... balsamic glaze chicken thighs with baked potatoes, squash and onions. Also everyone I went I went back to Praça de Estrela where I bought this beautiful squash that I’ve never seen before (see previous post OR swipe to see it.) I asked the lady which CV island they were from, and I also bought another one, and she told me they were from Santo Antão! Santo Antão is the neighboring island to São Vicente, where I am now 🙂. At only 1 hour distance by boat from here, it is definitely on my “places to visit” list! *
