Hicimos un piqueo de comida china de Queen Dim Sum, tapas ecuatorianas de La Pizarra y arabe de Paraíso Persa. De postre nos comimos un waffle de frutas con nutella de Kauka. Todo estuvo muy rico y abundante.

with this 𝐏𝐇𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐊𝐎𝐁𝐈 𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐎 𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐀𝐑𝐈 (Curried Cauli florets and potatoes with green peas). This is such a comfort meal. It is a typical Odia recipe (a dish from the cuisine of the coastal state of Odisha, India) which often appears on weekday menus and can almost never go wrong. It hits just the right spots on a vegetarian day. We had this for a meatless Monday lunch with some steamed Basmati and a Cucumber Raita on the side.

Last night my husband was putting our daughter to bed. Before he was able to do her nightly routine, haven fell asleep in his arms on the couch. He ended up just staying there and embracing the moment. I was in the kitchen finishing some meal prep for the week before our date night at home. I then looked at him, and told him I was ready. But he didn’t end up putting her down right away, he just kept holding her. When I got on the couch, Steven and I were talking. In the middle of our conversation, he said something so profound and beautiful that I wanted to share.
He told me, we are often so quick to move to the next thing that we put the most valuable thing down. It moved me because it’s so true for me. Staying in the moment for me can be difficult at times because I’m always on the go. But when you have moments to slow down- what’s the rush?! Especially when it’s moments like holding your daughter in your arms. So my challenge for you is to slow down, and when you have moments to just be- try that. ♥️ ___

Pomegranates are a symbol to me of a legacy of family devotion and love. They are the reason why Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. .
Both sides of my grandparents own/owned pomegranate orchards. Although we lived in different cities, tending to the orchard was a part of growing up. I have lots of memories from childhood, but my favorites revolve around juicing season. For years, as many children and grandchildren as able would gather to harvest and juice the pomegranates. It was a sticky sweet assembly line with everyone on a task. There was always laughter, good stories, and a sense of belonging as we worked on something bigger than ourselves. No matter how old we get, we always try to make it back at harvest time. Now it includes great grandchildren too! Those experiences helped form lasting, loving relationships in our family that have somehow tied us even stronger than blood can tie. It tied us as tight as pomegranate juice is tart ☺️ .
Whatever your family is like and whatever situation you find yourself in. I wish for you that this thanksgiving brings you closer together to the people that matter the most. Xoxo 😘 .
