for January is the beautiful and kind hearted @sonmaagundu
I am Ijebusonma Agundu. I am an 18 year old Pre-Med student in Life Science at Middlesex College in Lowell MA hoping to transfer into any good prestigious four year institution for Medicine. I finished from Corona Secondary school Agbara in Nigeria and started a new life in America.
I am very passionate about educating and eradicating Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence as well as helping the less privileged. My aspirations in life is to become a successful gynecologist, Advocate, Author & Poet and an Evangelist for Christ. As a little girl, hearing stories of mostly women being mistreated, raped, assaulted got me upset, sad and disgusted. It breaks my heart that we have a lot of ignorant people walking on this earth but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! People need to know that it isn’t okay to rape or assault anyone because of their dressings or their assets or them being drunk or assumed to be flirting. We all need to know and understand what consent ( mutual agreement) entails.
It is always sad to hear of the rape of a 4 year old girl or hearing grown man saying that he was molested at eight years and doesn’t see the wrong in that.
In my little community, I am a part of some organizations that are fighting against these issues like Center for Hope and Healing in Lowell Massachusetts. This is for everyone including survivors that are currently dealing with this. I am involved in the yearly Boston Women March that comes up on the 19th of January. I am also in the Advocacy committee of my school that would be one of the organizers for a Self awareness program for every student in school in March. I am also an active member of the Helping Hands clubs in my school where with our kind hearts we help support people in need either food or clothing. Lastly in the Fall of 2019, I will be releasing my first book called ‘The Great Discovery’ which urges the people especially the government of my country Nigeria, and all over the world to never forget to support the less privilege because givers never lack and this generosity you’re doing will surely payback.
