“I used to get into fights a lot in high school. Going back to me being shy and introverted, many people would try to say something to me. By many people, I mean the bullies. There were always either a few gangs trying to pick on people or just guys being dicks for whatever reason. So when I would be approached to be made fun of, most people didn't expect me to retaliate or speak back the way I can, so then that would lead to the fight. I'm also a trained black belt in Kenpo and I grew up between New York, where many people kind of just learn to fight, and Rhode Island. But primarily in Rhode Island is where I learned to fight. In RI, I trained in the first Kenpo Karate school in New England. It was run by military officials and by police officers and part of the training was literally us, the students, getting our asses kicked by the instructors, which in the moment, I was like, 'This is probably not legal by any means.' But I'm thankful for it because I know how to fight and thankfully, I've never lost a fight."
