It has been an incredible year.
It started with the Ice Ultra in the beautiful Laponia region of northern Sweden. Where I got to see @willbaldlygo
showcase his 13 months of hard work from sofa to ultramarathon.
From -20 to +40 it was straight to the deserts of Namibia where I wild camped and explored the ugab river beds looking for new routes for the Desert Ultra. Sharing great stories around a camp fire with the newly formed local namibian team under sky's filled with stars.
Then a return to the Amazon for the Jungle Ultra in June. Like always a fantastic adventure that creates epic stories of adversity as runners slog their way through primal rain forest.
In July, I hooked up with the hero @adamkimble818
where the bromance truly flourished as we completed a self supported run of Great Britain including the three peaks. The first people in history to do so.
August saw the announcement of the new For Rangers Ultra. A race in partnership with @forrangers
Designing the race through Kenyan conservancies was an absolute blast. Running with rhino and taking selfies with elephants was a dream but meeting the Rangers in person was something spectacular and a great honour.
September I turned 30 and the wonderful @clarelouisegill
spoiled me with a beautiful trip to Basque country where we drank wine and surfed and drank wine and drank more wine. Then to top it off a city break to lisbon followed by an amazing wedding in Farro. I also had the privilege to speak at the @hdyofeed
Summer camp in Washington where I met a bunch of inspirational young adults.
Then to finish the year a return to Namibia to put the Desert Ultra back on the @beyondtheultimate
race calendar for good.
It has been epic. Wonderfully epic. The news of a potential future treatment for HD was the cherry on an already lovely cake.
2018. Let's go!
