There is a report about the Prophet (SAW) wrestling in the Sunan of Aboo Daawood, on the authority of Muhammad ibn 'Alee ibn Rukaanah, who said,"Verily Rukaanah wrestled the Prophet, and the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) took him down."
In one narration about the incident it states that the Prophet wrestled him, and he was a tough guy. So he said to the Prophet, “A sheep for a sheep (i.e. I’ll bet you a sheep, and if you win I’ll pay you a sheep and if I win you pay me a sheep). So the Prophet defeated him in the match. Then the man said, "let me try again,” so the Prophet agreed and he defeated him a second time. So the man said, “let me try again,” and the Prophet beat him a third time. Then the man said, “What am I going to say to my family? A wolf ate one sheep, and another sheep got away from the flock. But what can I say about the third one?” So the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said, “We did not get together with you and wrestle with you in order to put you in debt. Take your sheep.” (Al-Albaanee said, “It is a good (hasan) hadeeth, recorded by Abu Dawood and At-Tirmithee. It is mentioned in the footnotes that this must have been before the prohibition of gambling, or that the Prophet did not accept his bet and that is why he didn’t carry it out (upon winning).” See Ghaayat ul-Maraam, #378
The prophet (saw) said ““Whoever revives an aspect of my Sunnah that is forgotten after my death, he will have a reward equivalent to that of the people who follow him, without it detracting in the least from their reward.” [Reported by al-Tirmidhi]
