Don’t let the pressure of social media and humans fog up your Lens of how you view life & yourself. 💨
Faithless To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.
How many more of us are faking the facade? How many more of us are pretending to be something we’re not? Even better, how many of us will have the courage to be ourselves regardless of what others think?
For Hilo's Gotcha day (anniversary of his adoption day), I shared that October was pitbull awareness month. Just last week, one of our neighborhood friends recommended the documentary "Champions" on Netflix. I sat down to watch it yesterday. It's a documentary about Michael Vick's dogs that were seized from his dog fighting ring. It shows what they came from, and how resilient they are. I remember this being all over the news, but it was huge back home because it wasn't far from us. I apparently had missed, or just chose to block out some of the specifics.
51 dogs were taken. 47 survived. PETA wanted to euthanize every single one of them. Did you know Vick was known to drown, hang and electrocute his dogs? He even threw in his own family dog into the pit. I'm all for second chances and a good come back story, but when you've harmed an animal and laughed about it, you don't deserve a damn thing. 18 months wasn't long enough. Can you believe some moron gave this fucker a dog after all of this?
I type all of this to say, don't be like PETA, and many others that assume this breed is so different from all the others. There are more pitbulls euthanized in kill shelters than any other breed. It kills me to know that our handsome Hilo could've been another. He loves everyone and everything. It's 100% possible to rescue a really great pitbull. They love hard. 💙

Appreciation post for this guy 〽️ thanks for being a trooper all day yesterday & for staying up since 3:30am to watch the Chargers game. I’m your biggest fan
Im always a lil sad when the summer wraps up over here. I much prefer the summer ocean here on the north shore. Calm flat days, long deep dives, cruising on the boat and floating in the ocean. I’m thinking days like that are numbered this year as winter swells start creeping in. I’m looking forward to cooler weather and snuggly nights but I’ll be missing my fish friends until the spring. What’s your favorite season? Why do you love it so much? And what do you do to get through your “not so favorite” seasons?
