I am a woman. And I am a feminist.
Had I been a man, I would still be a feminist. Had I been a transgender or a non-binary, I would still be a feminist. I support feminism. And no, that does not mean I hate men. That does not mean I would blindly support a woman that does wrong or accuse a man of doing something he never did.
I support feminism and that simply means I am all up for gender-equality in this society, this global society. Not just in my city, state or country. In this world. To achieve gender equality, both the sexes must be treated the same way in so many aspects where the scenario is the opposite. By this I don't mean to say women are physically stronger than men or that women and men are biologically equal. But what I mean is that one of the MANY genders (I don't mean just two) clearly has more power than and over the others. By equal rights what I simply mean is to have equal pays, basic birth rights, right to freedom of speech, actions, thoughts and belief. To come over a definition of 'beautiful' and in this case both for men and women.. infact for every human existing. Basic rights of being able to climb upwards in my career without having to COMPROMISE. What saddens me more is that we are still having to fight for providing education to girl children or to stop killing of girl foetuses for heaven's sake and I am still having to explain what I mean by being a feminist. A movement to come over a vague belief of women not being capable enough, strong enough, smart enough, independent enough, free enough, beautiful enough is still being twisted to make it about men. Enough. I love women. And I love men. I love humans in general. But if you're gonna ask me to cover myself over covering myself until I add on 1000 layers of coverings to my skin so that my male-colleagues can peacefully focus on their work and education, if you're gonna tell me to take leave from school and ignore MY education because my vagina is bleeding, if you're gonna shut me out claiming I am lying about being raped, if you're gonna prevent me from getting an abortion, I hate you.
