Spent the afternoon enjoying a three course feast at @spicerstamarindretreat in Maleny. I definitely can't do the menu justice trying to describe the flavours, so you'll just have to try it one day for yourself 😉 . The modern Asian menu is designed to be shared, so for the first course we tried the Cambodian style barramundi salad with green mango and bean sprouts as well as the beef tataki with daikon and miso mustard 👌
Tried something new for dinner✨ Potato crusted quiche stuffed with eggs, peppers, garlic, ricotta, spinach, zucchini and cheese! It was delicious 🤤 my husband is so creative 😍

I spent almost the entire morning in bed in my PJs snuggling with my daughter who has a stomach bug.Teen snuggles are not so easy to come by, so I wasn't about to jump out of bed.Today was technically a rest day anyway, but, after being in bed so long, come late afternoon I needed something. Seeing as it was 50°outside in New York, and I hadn't gone for a run in a while, I decided running was the thing. Good decision! I literally only did a 20 min run, but, as always, it made a huge difference! Don't ever convince yourself you don't have time....sometimes 15 or 20 minutes is all you need! You probably spend more time than that scrolling social media! I am starting a new program in January (with my favorite trainer) and the workouts are not crazy hard and only 20 minutes each! I got to the markets late yesterday as I had to pick up some medication for Randall. When I got there they’d run out of kale but the girls who run the stall suggested I try this vegetable instead. It’s called Gai LAN and my research has told me it’s also called CHINESE KALE !!!! How cool is that 😀 🥬 . It’s very high in Vitamin K and also contains good amounts of folate and vitamin A and C. Also contains reasonable levels of calcium, potassium and manganese. . Wahoo what a find. . Thanks Randall 💚

On the 10th day of Christmas, Health Coaching gave to me... the bliss of ignorance for my kids. My twins are 8 years old. Today, we drove past Florida Hospital, the hospital I worked at for 8 years. I mentioned, "mommy used to work here." One of the twins responded in sheer amazement.... "You used to work at a hospital???!" 🤪😳👍 Yup! For 8 years!!! My kids know I work. They see me work every day. But that's just the thing... They SEE me work everyday because I am with them. They see what I do because I don't have to leave them to go to work. I have travelled to trainings , and on occasion, I leave the house for a meeting. But today, I am reminded how grateful I am my kids don't know what it's like to have mommy leave for work and be gone for 12 hours straight. I am grateful I don't know what it's like to leave the house while they are sleeping and return after they are in bed. I am grateful they don't remember mommy walking in from the garage in her undies because she stripped her germ infested work clothes in the garage to protect them from whatever bugs she was exposed to at work. #10thDayOfChristmas #HealthCoaching #Gratitude #blessed #NursingOutsidetheBox

We can't stress enough (which seems kind of silly to say in a post about meditation!) how there is no right or wrong way to meditate. Whether you sit on a meditation pillow with your legs crossed and chant "Om" or experience a meditative state while you drive, both are right! And today we want to share a simple technique for meditating while you're on the go and need a little grounding. We call this "Micro Meditating"-- it's a technique where you allow yourself a quick minute or two to go into a meditative state. In this brief moment, you can recenter and connect with your true self. We love this technique because it's simple, quick, and extremely powerful. Here's how to do it: - Closing your eyes. - Notice your breath. - Envision a place that brings you peace. - Simply spend some time here and focus on your breathing. Coming back to the present, you should feel refreshed and grounded. This is a great tool to have in your back pocket (and to share with your clients) to use wherever, whenever! Excellent post reminding us of the deeper aspects to nutrition often overlooked in conventional dietetics; that optimum nutrition comes through ABSORPTION of the most nutrients from our food, not just through eating solitary foods or taking solitary nutrients in supplement form. Whole Foods nutrition is an art as much as a science which gets consistently refined as the data grows. ... 🥦 Since familiarizing myself with this research, I’ve been known to throw mustard seed on all my sulforaphane-rich veggies... and loving the extra spice it offers! And as a health science nerd 🤓, it’s my jam to know I’m optimizing my nutritional status with little tweaks like this. 👌#wildchildsheeats .. 🥦 #Repost @foundmyfitness with @get_repost ・・・ Add mustard seed powder to your cooked broccoli! A small trial finds that when people eat cooked broccoli with 1 gram of powdered mustard seed the bioavailability of sulforaphane increased more than 4-fold compared to eating cooked broccoli alone. Other studies have shown similar data, but this is the first one that I am aware of that showed it in vivo! This is very applicable because cooking broccoli inactivates the enzyme (called myrosinase) that converts glucoraphanin into sulforaphane. The mustard seed powder provides a viable source of the enzyme myrosinase that can be sprinkled on top of the broccoli after it is cooked. I usually try to sprinkle mustard seed on my cooked broccoli and other cooked cruciferous vegetables like sauteed kale. Evolving is necessary to move forward in life. I’ve spent a lot of time in the last few years evolving, growing, and getting to know myself in the process. I didn’t know I was lost and I still am in many ways. But I’ve learned that I’ve ignored my soul for so long. Your soul is your North Star, so when you ignore it you DO get lost. I’ve drowned out my own voice using external distractions. It’s time I take my voice back and that’s exactly what I’m learning how to do. And if there’s anything else I’ve learned and believe without a doubt? It’s that we ALL have a story, we all need to speak our truth, and we all need to find that voice and have the courage to share ourselves with the world. Your uniqueness is what the world needs.

I almost quit and then I realized who’s watching. My kids are my biggest motivator. They are not only my biggest motivator they are also my biggest accountability partners. They often ask have you met your goal yet? Are you happy with what you’re doing? Do you need a date night? You look tired Mom, you need a massage? Mom, you have not been in the gym... 🤣 These guys make me emotional. They are my best business consultants, they’re in my circle of 5 because they are honest and blunt. They know what they want and what truly matters, and that’s time with family, doing what you said you were gonna do, keeping your promises, trying anyways no matter how scary, taking risks... They bring me back to planet earth often, they’re the toughest accountability partners and it’s great to be surrounded by these guys! I love them so much!
