Se vale que algo no nos guste, lo que no se vale es decir que no nos gusta cuando solo lo hemos probado una vez. .
Para solucionar esto, muchas veces basta con que preguntemos.
Que necesita para que te guste? .
Los niños (y muchos adultos) necesitamos ser expuestos a cierto alimento más de 15 veces para poder decir que algo nos gusta!
Así que paciencia... e imaginación para presentarles de muchas formas los alimentos. .

Waiting is a hard habit to break, but what’s the point of doing the work if we don’t use it to fuel the shit that makes us excited and happy?

FISHERMAN’s PIE 🐠
Si alguno de ustedes es tan fan de FRIENDS como yo, seguro van a recordar la escena en la que Rachel hizo el postre de la cena de Thanksgiving en el que por error hizo mal el Trifle y lo combino con Shepherd’s pie. Bueno, mi curiosidad me llevó a investigar que era un Shepherd’s pie y resulta que es un plato muy famoso en Inglaterra que tiene varias capas y se hace con carne. Una cosa llevo a la otra (me pongo muy intensa cuando me pongo a investigar) y descubrí que existe una versión pecetariana del Shepher’s pie que llama Fisherman’s pie. Evidentemente no sería yo, si no me portara rebelde haciéndole cambios a la receta original para asegurarme que sea un plato que puedo agregar a mi plan alimenticio. El resultado fue ESPECTACULAR. Espero repetir este plato pronto, ya que las sobras que planeaba comerme fueron devoradas por mi esposo…
INGREDIENTES (2 porciones):
- ½ libra de pescado blanco
- 1/3 tz de vino blanco
- 1 pizca de eneldo
- ½ libra de zanahoria blanca
- ½ cda de ghee
- 2 cdas de yogurt griego
- ½ tz champiñones cortados
- ¼ libra de camarones
- 60 gr de queso parmesano
1. Precalentar el horno a 180° C y engrasar un recipiente para hornear. Colocar el pescado, con el vino blanco, sal, pimienta y eneldo y cubrir con papel aluminio. Hornear por 15 mins. Sacar del horno y guardar el líquido. Subir la temperatura a 220° C.
2. Hervir agua y cocinar la zanahoria blanca. Hacer puré con el ghee, yogurt griego, sal y pimienta.
3. Saltear los champiñones en un sartén. Agregar los camarones y cocinar por 1-2 mins hasta que estén rosados.
4. Colocar los champiñones y los camarones sobre el pescado.
5. Agregar la salsa del pescado al queso y cubrir los camarones y champiñones.
6. Hornear por 20 minutos más, hasta que el queso esté dorado.

S A L A D • Greek salad is my top 3 salads, I think I had at least 2 a day when in Greece 🇬🇷
Love it so much as it oozes simplicity ✨ vine ripe, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, olives & olive oil + sprinkled oregano 🌿 perfect anti inflammatory salad that will give you all the much needed daily veg intake plus good fats from a good quality Greek style feta ✨
To make mine you will need:
100 grams feta
2 large vine ripe tomatoes, roughly chopped
1 lebanese cucumber, peeled and chopped
1/2 red onion, finely sliced
10 kalamata olives
1 tablespoon oregano
Salt & Pepper
Wash all of your vegetables thoroughly
Slice the tomatoes roughly and place in a large bowl, add cucumber, then onion. Dress this salad in a sprinkling of olive oil, pinch of salt and pepper.
Place feta as slab on top (traditional Greek way) or can be cut into cubes
Serve with oregano on top and a touch more olive oil.

I’ve been finding myself feeling sorry for myself a lot lately. I’ve been finding myself comparing myself to others and my situation to theirs. The reality is, having those things would never satisfy me! If I don’t cherish everything in my life now, I probably won’t when I do have those things either.
This week I’m giving up self-pity for love and compassion. And replacing all my negative thoughts with positive affirmations. -

I am addicted to sugar. If you know me, I literally CAN’T say no to sweets. I have a history of crash dieting. I would go a few days cutting calories and eating plain chicken with veggies until someone put a brownie in the same room as me
Do you want to know my habit? I would say to myself that it was worth it. That one piece of brownie would not make my stomach twist and make me sick for days. But guess what? It always did. I reached for that brownie anyways
Time and time again I reached for that sweet that would cause me to hate myself for weeks, just to repeat the process
But then something changed. I joined Arbonne. I committed to 30 days with absolutely no gluten, soy, dairy, or processed foods. I kissed that sweet tooth goodbye and for once, I stuck to it
, I was living with 19 health issues. I am blessed to now have 0. Those 19 health issues controlled my life and I am so happy to FINALLY say that all 19 are absolutely gone

Porque tá lindo!
Além do óbvio (ok, nem sempre tão óbvio para todos) da educação com o próximo, que envolve segurar a porta e o por favor/obrigado de toda hora, o quanto a gente se move de forma gratuita pelo outro? Simplesmente por que sim?
Apesar de já ter levantado o o título de "trouxa do ano" algumas vezes e ter tentando mudar a minha forma de agir, prefiro seguir sendo o que sou e dividindo o que tenho de melhor, sem esperar por nada além de que a minha mão estendida tenha alcançado a outra mão que precisava de apoio. E isso foi libertador! Ao outro cabe o que é possível a ele, honrado ou não, justo ou não…mas, acredite, o universo/Deus/energia (sei lá qual é a crença que você carrega) devolve na mesma medida que você doa, mesmo que não seja algo que você espere. E seguem florescendo no meu caminho gentilezas sutis, deliciosas e inesperadas que confirmam o quanto vale a pena a nossa autenticidade!
Agora imagina se a gente exercesse a máxima "faça com o outro aquilo que gostaria que fizessem com você” e passasse a se doar de forma despretenciosa? Que mundo bacana e justo, com pessoas mais legais e felizes não estaríamos ajudando a construir?
Não acho que seja utopia acreditar numa “corrente do bem”…por que a vejo acontecer na minha vida todos os dias!

True happiness comes from within. It comes from having peace of mind.
Trust me, I’ve been there. I hated my body. Back in the day I would have bought anything that came with the promise of ‘feeling better’. And I did, but none of it mattered. None of it ‘fixed’ me.
What I came to realize is that external things would never fix me. And that realization has led me down the path back to my True Self.
The Self that KNOWS she is worthy of love. Not because I look a certain way, but because I am a Divine creation birthed from the infinite cosmos and seriously, what could be cooler than that!?
Healing your body / losing excess weight involves so much more than what you put in your mouth. That is why I take a Mind, Body & Soul approach in my health coaching programs!

Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all? This is the question we pose to our mirror every morning am I right? Most of us don’t make it sound like the wicked queen from snow white (no judgment if so), but we do give that mirror some major say in our self esteem, myself included 🤦🏼♀️
Most days, I look in the mirror and only see things I want to change. If only I was a little skinnier. If only my butt was a bit rounder. If only my hair was shinier. And so on and so forth. Very few days do I look in the mirror and think “wow, I have a beautiful smile” or “damn my legs look good in these jeans!”. We have a habit of focusing on the negatives and overlooking the positives
Over the past few weeks, I have taken a stand against this bad habit of mine. I decided NO MORE. No more negativity towards myself and my body because all it does is lower my confidence. And who’s to say a mirror gets to decide how I feel about myself? •
I have made a conscious effort to avoid these dangerous thoughts in two ways: first, I am looking in the mirror less. This was a tough one for me but I noticed the less time I spent in front of the mirror, the more I was able to praise myself for things ASIDE from looks like personality, energy and the people around me. And second, when I do look in the mirror, I name AT LEAST one thing I love about my physical self. I can confidently say I am taking back the power I once gave to the mirror and want to encourage you all to do the same! Don’t let a reflection in a piece of glass, or any other mundane feature in your life, decide your worth. You are AMAZING and you need to tell yourself that! ❤️

Achy back? Give yoga a go. Numerous studies have shown the power of the ancient practice, which emphasizes stretching, strength, and flexibility, to relieve back soreness and improve function.
According to research published in July 2017 in the Annals of Internal Medicine, yoga may even help reduce the need for pain medication. At the start of the three-month study, in which one group was assigned to physical therapy for their back pain, a second to yoga, and a third to reading about pain management strategies, 70 percent of the subjects were taking medication. By the end, however, while the number of people taking medication in the reading group stayed the same, only 50 percent of the yoga and physical therapy subjects were still taking it.
While yoga isn’t a good idea if you have severe pain, those with occasional soreness or chronic aches may greatly benefit from certain postures that can help lengthen your spine, stretch and strengthen your muscles, and return your back to its proper alignment, says Jennifer Bayliss, a fitness expert in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Yoga’s focus on balance and steadiness encourages your body to develop defenses against the causes of back pain, which include weak abdominal and pelvic muscles, as well lack of flexibility in the hips. When you strengthen these muscles, you improve your posture, which reduces the load on your back, and thus reduces the aches you feel. There’s a lot behind why I love this work, but it’s mostly because I get how hard it is to feel unfulfilled, lost, and disconnected.
I’ve been there. I didn’t know what I wanted because I didn’t really know *myself!* I spent so much time seeking approval from other people by trying to impress and please them that I had no energy left to consider if what I was doing or saying felt right for ME. It was all about what *they* wanted, what *they* thought was fun/cool, or what *they* would think of me.
Today, I have the confidence to tune into my *own* mind and body and do what feels good for ME. 💃🏼 Thinking about what *you* want, what’s fun for *you,* and what will truly make *you* happy isn’t selfish. It’s living in alignment with who you really are, which ultimately allows for maximum health and happiness. ✨

Well I was too busy drinking all the fall cider this weekend to take cute pics with my new hair 🤷🏽♀️ but at least I have this selfie to show off my new cut and color.
Instead of words of wisdom I thought today I would share 5 facts about myself for those of you who don’t know me well.
1. I went to Virginia tech for interior design and have been practicing interior design for the last 4.5 years, but just went back to school this fall for nutrition 👩🎓 2. My husband runs a 3,000 acre crop farm with his dad and grows mostly corn, soybeans, wheat, and beans 🌽
3. I hate green beans. Always have and always will. 🤷🏽♀️ 4. I love to travel but only in short spurts 1-2 weeks because I don’t like being away from my family and pups for too long. So far I’ve been to a few Caribbean islands, Italy twice, Spain, France, Canada, and some of the east coast in the US + Las Vegas, Arizona, and Cali (I know it’s not much but I’ll get there) ✈️ 5. I never go anywhere without my water bottle. People probably think I’m insane but I get dehydrated so easily and I’m picky about tap water so I just bring water everywhere I go 😂
