It is the World Diabetes Day today. This year the theme of World Diabetes Day is 'The Family and Diabetes'. Diabetes is one of the leading causes of disability across the world. Diabetes currently affects over 425 million people worldwide, with more than 72.9 million cases of diabetes in India in 2017. Studies say that almonds may come in handy to improve metabolic risk factors associated with type-2 diabetes
Almonds are packed with fibre and protein, both of which are essential in regulating blood sugar levels. Almonds also have a negligible glycaemic index. The Glycaemic Index (GI) is a relative ranking of carbohydrate in foods according to how they affect blood glucose levels. Almonds tend to not disturb your blood sugar levels at all. Additionally, they also contain nutrients like riboflavin, magnesium, protein, calcium and folate.

If you are struggling to sleep soundly at night, and you are yawning through out the day, then you might want to consider sleeping in a completely dark room!
Why? We have a multitasking hero of a hormone called #Melatonin ! It is the anti inflammatory hormone, a strong antioxidant, a strong immunomodulator, and also the anti caner hormone! The hormone is best produced in complete darkness!
If you really do not like to sleep in complete darkness, try to buy a red colored light for your bedroom!
Because paradise is just a sip away! 🥥
From my limited understanding about health and nutrients, I can undoubtedly say that tender coconut water is one of the most delicious sources of hydration and has antioxidant properties as well which boosts up your metabolism to crazy levels.
Also, if you're on a weight loss spree cocunut water should be a must-have in your diet chart.
Drinking this beverage can keep you full and reduce your cravings as well.
I always have it after my workout session.
But please avoid using the plastic straw 🙈. Go for the bamboo ones or if you have the patience then take it home, clean it properly and reuse it 😛🙈

Green Chutney/ Spicy spread for Sandwich:
Sandwiches are the most popular food which is perfect filler in your lunch boxes/kids tiffin/evening snacks/any getaways or picnics! The main part of sandwich is its chutney or spicy spread which enhances the flavour of the food when added with veggies or meat!
Ingredients: • Coriander leaves, one medium sized bunch, thoroughly rinsed
• Green chillies, 2 to 3, slit
• Pudina/mint leaves, 4 to 5 twigs • Lemon juice, few drops (optional)
• Chat Masala, 1tsp
• Black salt, as per taste
Procedure: • Grind together all the above mentioned ingredients except lemon juice to a smooth paste.
• Add water only if needed. Add lemon drops and mix well.
• Remove in a bowl and your sandwich chutney is ready!
Notes: • I personally do not add the lemon juice as this gives a too much of tangy taste to the sandwiches which already has tomatoes in them.
• Add water little by little just to reach the semi thick consistency...too much if water in the chutney would make the bread soggy!
• The green chillies count can be modified as per one's preference.
• This same chutney can used in variety of chat items such as kachori, sev puri, etc.
