I had a plan. I’d bulk up, build muscle, lose the excess fat, go to back to baller stronger and fitter. Instead, I had to take time off for all the activities I love - ballet, splits, plyo, crosstrainer, all of it - and focus solely on correcting my biomechanics and anatomy. Does it suck? Yes! I hate not being able to sweat hard core most days. However, good things have come out of this experience. I’ve learned that my core strength is quite poor, how to hold my spine in a better position that helps at ballet, and already started strengthening those really deep muscles. If you’re having a hard time with injury, especially if you’re a pre-professional or pro dancer or athlete, try to find a positive in your experience. That switch in your perspective will really help mentally. I never expected anything good to come from this, especially on the days I felt unfit and sore. And I still feel those days. But you have to live in the present, not the past or the future. You can’t change it, so embrace it and work with it willingly. You’ll be much happier ❤️ link in my bio to watch my video about my spinal fractures.
