People always ask me how I stay motivated to eat right and work out, and the answer is that I don't. Motivation is a finite resource and not what you need to succeed in the long term. Discipline to stick to your goals and resilience to pick yourself back up and carry on when you slip will serve you much better. There are lots of days when I don't want to eat on plan or work out, but I do it anyways because I don't treat these things as optional. My best advice: stop waiting to feel motivated and start building healthy habits now - because the longer you stick with it, the easier it becomes. MAKE SAUSAGE: MINCED PORK 300g STREAKY BACON 3 rashers, chopped ONION 1 chopped GARLIC 1 bulb minced WORCHESTERSHIRE SAUCE 1 Tbsp ONION & GARLIC POWDERS 1 tsp each SALT & PEPPER TO TASTE 1. Fry up bacon. Remove from pan & reserve fat. Fry up onion & garlic. Cool 2. Add all sausage ingredients together. Set aside. MAKE SHORTCRUST DOUGH: GROUND ALMOND 1/3 cup COCONUT FLOUR 1/3 cup GOLDEN FLAXMEAL 1/3 cup SALT 1/2 tsp BAKING POWDER 1/4 tsp GRATED CHEDDAR 115g/4 oz BUTTER 115g/ 1/2 cup 5. Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F. Line baking tray with parchment. 1. Put all the dry ingredients into a medium bowl. Mix well. Set aside 2. Put butter & grated cheddar into an electric mixer bowl and beat on med-high until smooth and blended. Scrape down sides. 3. Lower mixer speed. Gradually add in the dry mixture to it and mix well. Use your hand to lightly form a ball. 4. Roll out dough into a long rectangle (1/4” thickness) in between 2 pcs of parchment. Place sausage meat shaped into a long log onto it, and fold over (WATCH THE VIDS FOR THE METHOD). 6. Use a sharp knife and divide the rolls . Place on baking tray and bake (on lower 3rd oven rack) for 25 mins, or until cooked. 7. This is what constant fast food, gas station food, soda and bare minimal of exercise looks like. I’ve been pretty stagnant for the last 4 years. Hovering around 250 lbs. The most I weighed was 280. Today, I’m 261. Today I bought a bunch of healthier foods. My biggest downfall is lack of prep for when I’m on the go or at work. I don’t pack a lunch, or I don’t pack enough, or it’s a hot pocket. I’m tired of being the fat guy. Feeling self conscious, and closed in. I want to be able to wear shirts that don’t come in my size or a nice pair of jeans that don’t make my legs look like a hot dog package. I want to have a reason to wax off the hair that’s all over my chest and back. I want to feel proficient in my career. It always goes back to here, this same, sad place. DINNER **Freezer Stash Creamy Lemony Chicken • Cauliflower Mash . . Another Dinner... Another Freezer Stash Moment. I’m seriously in love with my Stash! . . . CREAMY LEMONY CHICKEN . . Here's what you need: 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
1 Tbsp. paprika
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 tsp. dried thyme
3 Tbsp. unsalted butter
3 cloves of garlic
1/2 cup chicken stock 1 tbsp. Meadow & Marrow Lemon & Herb 1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup Parmesan
1 lemon
2 cups baby spinach
. .
Instructions:
1. Season chicken thighs with salt, pepper, and paprika.
2. Melt 2 Tbsp. butter in a large ovenproof skillet over medium high heat. Add chicken, skin-side down, and sear both sides until golden brown. Drain excess fat and set aside.
3. Melt 1 Tbsp. butter in the skillet. Add garlic, stir until fragrant, then add chicken broth, Meadow & Marrow Lemon & Herb bone broth, heavy cream, Parmesan, lemon juice, thyme, and stir. Bring to boil, then reduce heat to low.
4. Stir in spinach, simmer until spinach has wilted and the sauce has thickened. Return chicken to the skillet.
5. Bake at 400˚F / 200˚C for 25 minutes.
6. But not weight training properly or should i say almost not weight training due family commitments ( need to give my wife time for her training) i am not liking where its going. Tonight’s #keto dinner was a delicious Caesar salad 🤤 It wasn’t full of fat, drowning in mayo or covered in bacon. In fact there wasn’t even any cheese🙅🏼‍♀️ It was served on a giant bed of kale, with 1 small crispy piece of short cut bacon, grilled chicken breast, 1/4 of an avo, 2 boiled eggs and a very very modest drizzle of whole egg mayonnaise.(Of corse I made beaus with a mountain of homemade crispy garlic croutons because #theBoyLovesBread ) It didn’t feel dirty, it didn’t taste oily, and it didn’t NEED any more fat. Just because you CAN eat mayo and cheese and bacon on keto doesn’t mean they don’t count towards your calories. I’m choosing to keep my meals light ✌🏻#YouDoYou #NatsHealthyHacks

Left picture is my carb face taken almost two months ago. Right picture is my 1.5 month keto face taken 10 minutes ago. It's been a rough month and a half overcoming numerous cravings, sugar addiction, keto flu, and doubt. But this visual definitely shows that I have made (some) progress. Down 22lbs, losing inches off my waist, I have never felt better. My clothes fit better, some looser, fitting into clothes I haven't worn in a long time. My confidence is slowly creeping back. I did my makeup and straightened my hair for the first time in months. It may be 4am, and I don't plan on going anywhere made up at the moment, but the effort still counts for something in my book. I can't wait to see how my progress looks in a few months from now. So I am trying to figure what went wrong today and it just comes down to giving in to my temptations. I fasted till forever (accidentally), didn’t eat till 2 or 3pm but then again wasn’t super hungry. Maybe I just waited to long to eat? Not sure but I did have some sweet carbs today. No healthy carbs but I am pushing forward and making tomorrow a better day. Goal is to drink a ton of water, move, and stay on track and I know I’ll be ok. Never perfect but I’m not stopping. Skipped lunch and had a few jalapeno poppers for a late snack, so when dinner came around last night I was famished. I was sooo excited for steak fajitas. My husband grilled the thinly cut skirt steak on our @traegergrills and made fresh pico. @michellewoodbury23 made an amazing habanero sauce. This was incredibly filling. Our toppings: •cheddar cheese •red/green bell pepper •pico (onion, tomato, cilantro, lime, s&p, garlic) •steak •lettuce • habanero sauce: two habaneros, splash of water, <1/4 cup sour cream. Made smooth in blender). . Serve on a low carb tortilla if you can fit it into your macros, or eat without like a salad.
