Who do you think will play against Leicester? 💭
Jurgen Klopp has strongly hinted he will resist dipping into the transfer market this month despite admitting Liverpool face a “really difficult problem” in defence.
Klopp is pondering a selection crisis at right-back in the wake of Saturday's dramatic 4-3 win over Crystal Palace.
James Milner, who deputised in the role at the weekend, is suspended for Liverpool's next match at home to Leicester City on Wednesday week following his late red card at the weekend.
Fabinho, another right-back option, hobbled off with a hamstring problem towards full time, while Klopp has intimated the Leicester game will come too early for Trent Alexander-Arnold with Joe Gomez already sidelined.
And with Nathaniel Clyne on loan at Bournemouth, Rafa Camacho – who made his Premier League debut during injury time against Palace – is Liverpool's only recognised available right-back at present.
“It is a really difficult problem,” said Klopp. “I can imagine what people think about this situation but you have to make decisions in moments when decisions are on the table.
That's why Clyney is not here anymore. In that moment we had plenty of options and now we don't have them. That's how it is in our next games.
Trent got an injury and it's serious but not that serious. He will be back early but I don't know if early enough for the next game. Maybe the game after (at West Ham United the following Monday).
Everyone gives me the feeling, Trent as well, that that is absolutely possible but we have to wait and cannot risk anything. We have to come through this situation.”
Klopp added: “Tell me a player who can play right-back and other positions as well better than our boys like Rafa can do?
By the way, after training Ki-Jana Hoever has a little injury as well, not too serious and he's probably back for the Leicester game but these things happen.
Crystal Palace, of course, had three goalkeepers and all is fine and then the next moment you stand there with one. Do you buy another goalkeeper? I'm not sure. We have to use the resources we have already and that is what we try.”

Nabil Fekir admits he is still interested in a transfer to Liverpool months on from his failed £53m move to the Reds. He told Le Progres: "Discussions are ongoing. I have sat down with the president, things are advancing slowly. When will I take a decision? I am not fixing myself a date, I am not in a rush. Nobody is putting any pressure on it and I like to take my time. I do not know [how long I will stay]. Last year was supposed to be my last, and in the end I'm still here. I cannot know the answer to this. I am happy at Lyon, but which player doesn't dream of discovering a new league, another club?"
Jurgen Klopp believes Rafa Camacho has already made “the most important challenge of his life” after the Liverpool youngster's remarkable introduction to life in the Premier League.
Camacho was handed his league bow when thrown on in the fourth minute of injury time in Saturday's dramatic 4-3 win over Crystal Palace.
With the visitors chasing an equaliser, there was still enough time for Camacho to make an important tackle inside the area by taking the ball off the toes of a rampaging Wilfried Zaha.
Klopp responded by raising his arms in celebration with the final whistle blowing seconds later.
And a relieved Reds boss said: “I told him immediately after the game that he'd already made the most important challenge of his life.
“I'm not sure he really got it – he looked at me like 'What is he talking about?' – but it was really massive.
He's good in defensive challenges. He's an offensive player in his mindset and everything but look at our full-backs and where are they most of the time? You need these offensive skills.
On the other side there will be moments when you are alone on the pitch against a world class player and they are looking to nutmeg you or whatever.
It is the learning process Robbo (Andy Robertson) went through. He was a fantastic left-winger but played full-back and now he is a full-back. That's really cool.
I was really happy in that moment but I have seen similar situations from him (Camacho) before.”

Good Monday Reds!
The Reds are still on top and lead the race by 4 points, with @mancity
and the rest trailing and fighting for glory. The @premierleague
title is in our hands and ours to lose.
Saturday proved to be yet another crucial, hard-earned victory from the lads and overall we did enough to win. With obvious defensive issues, the boys are showing that they are willing to do whatever it takes to win and don’t ever, ever accept defeat! This team is more resilient than ever and I have never had more faith in a Liverpool manager and squad as I do now!
The lads have a decent break until we take on @lcfc
, who are having their own issues and will be dreading facing our Red Hot, Rock ‘N Roll Reds!
We Go Again! YNWA @liverpoolfc
