Preface: Let this be your safe-zone.
I found that the moment I opened up about things that were real in my life, it almost became this golden ticket for others to drop their guards and open up themselves. Instagram and social media is an easy place to hide behind when you’re unhappy and dealing with struggle; it’s easy to pretend that what people think is more important that healing yourself.
If you are dealing with pressure, depression or anxiety or panic attacks, or maybe you’re just having a hard time finding your way, you have to understand that there is no shame in dealing with phases and these particular situations in life. The first thing I found really significant when I personally battled with anxiety and those crazy panic attacks, you have to come forward - that doesn’t mean announcing your issues to the whole world. It simply means to own how you are feeling and start to believe that’s IT’S OKAY. Because it IS. We have to start the conversation and make it less about judgement, and less about the shame you possibly carry, for playing a role and pretending you’re something that you’re not is exhausting. And it’s not solving anything. Surround yourself with those you can talk to - truly understand that this is not something you have become, but something you are going through. And it too shall pass. • I feel like many of you that I’ve met through here or those I’ve known ‘out there’ have much hesitation because you’re afraid of being looked at as weak or not keeping things together. And I get that. But I tell you, the moment, the very moment you put yourself first, is when the healing will begin. Know that, with me, I’ll never judge you. With me, there is a safe space where you are free. And the truth is, EVERYONE is in need of help in some way. The fake perceptions that fill our days really saddens me because there needs to be more support being given, than shade. IT starts with YOU. Be brave enough to not be bullied, stop hiding - allow yourself to be FREE. Your life and wellness only comes around once, give yourself the opportunity to feel good about your purpose and all the amazing things you can feel and achieve. You will be okay. xx Leigh
