I’ve only recently gotten into cooking and a big part of my inspiration was as #Caretaker
- it gives me joy to feed my dad healthy food. The topic of brain food is a big one and something that I’m reading a lot about but I’m not an expert, nor do I follow the recommendations by the book. I do know that #LeafyGreens
are never a bad idea, so I love meals that are centered around that.
I made this Kale, Broccoli & Pear salad based on a recipe by @lastingredient
- it’s delicious - almonds add a little crunch, blue cheese adds some tang and I improvised by adding the avocado because I’ve yet to find a reason to not add avocado! *
I made a quick whole grain mustard, olive oil & lemon dressing, not the Sherry Viniagrette from the recipe - this was so that I could serve with a single Chicken / Apple sausage. So while sausage probably doesn’t make the 10 ten on any health food lists, this is a win-win in my mind - he gets some sausage, but it’s far from the main ingredient. .
I did a lot of #Vegan
cooking over the summer and I learned that raw brussel sprouts sliced thin with a mandoline are pretty darn versatile and delicious! *Have you seen the t-shirt - “You Can’t Please Everyone, You’re Not an Avocado” ? - Love that. .
