When people talk about contacting a sleep consultant they can’t help to think the “cry it out”. This is a common misconception.
A trained sleep consultant works based on your goals as a family (sleep through the night, co-sleeping and feeding less). They also think about who you are as a parent and what seems to be the main area we could help your child (anxiety, discomfort, structure, total amount of sleep). Some sleep consultants only work with babies while others work with older children, in my case I work with children up to 11 years.
How does a sleep plan works? First, you contact us and we discuss what is most appropriate for you and your family. Then you fill in a sleep diary and a questionnaire and you will receive your personalised sleep plan. The idea is that you get the tools you need to go back to routine when you need it (teething, illness, holidays). What are your views around getting help with your baby/child’s sleep?

Hey you, it’s Monday. I know what you’re thinking,
“Ugh. Monday again. I don’t want to adult today...”
How often does this lead to looking in the mirror and saying nasty things about yourself TO yourself?
Funny isn’t it?..
I’ve noticed recently that it’s massively easy to be negative about oneself because we’re conditioned to think this way about ourselves through influence. ‘Got under eye circles? Run this silver ball with stuff in it they’re wrong’
‘Got cellulite? Rub this in it, it’s wrong’
‘Crows feet?! You can’t age here’s a cream, slap it on, it’s wrong’
Why is it wrong? If a vast majority of the population have these issues, then... are they actually wrong?! (Answer no. They’re not. They’re parts and facts of life...)
Take some time for yourself today. Grab a piece of paper, tissue, your colleagues Costa napkin, your bosses post-it’s (just not when they’re looking of course) and do this:
💖‘The three things I love most about myself are...’💖
Then do it. Feel that love for yourself come through from pen to paper, nice isn’t it?
If you’re feeling brave why not leave an anonymous one on a colleagues desk? ‘💫I think you’re fantastic because...’💫
Watch their world light up.
Positivity and kindness is magic you see 🌈😉

What the hell is my niche?! 😉 Keep Reading...⠀⠀
When we try to appeal to everyone, we appeal to no one. Why? Because to do so is to be bland and beige. You might not offend anyone but you don’t excite anyone either.⠀⠀
Having a niche means you get really focused on what you do and who you do it for. It’s your special sauce. The thing that makes you irresistible to your ideal clients. 😜⠀⠀
Sure, there are probably thousands and thousands of other people in your field. But no one has the exact combination of skills, passions, and experience that you do.🙌🏻⠀⠀
It sounds counterintuitive but by being clear that our work is not for everyone we can actually attract more people to our work. Eg: Rather than being any old chef being the chef for vegetarians who loooooooove aubergines 🍆 and want to eat it with every meal tells YOUR people that they want what you’ve got.⠀⠀
If you’ve been resisting finding your niche start by asking yourself: what do you specialise in? And for whom?⠀⠀
Once you’ve gotten more clarity on your segment of the market, how does your website copy, social media strategy, and email marketing need to change to really declare what you’re all about? 😃⠀⠀
Sound overwhelming? DM me or drop me an email, I’d love to help! ❤️⠀⠀
There’s always been something about rain that brings out all of the feels in me. Maybe it’s the sound, or maybe it’s the smell. Maybe it’s because everyone else seems to stay dry inside, instead of reveling in the gift the Earth gives us. Maybe it’s just the simple fact that nature really is full of tiny miracles. No matter what the root cause, I’ve always kept a special piece of my soul saved specifically for rainy days. I spend time in the wet grass. I take a walk. I reach out to a friend. I burn the fancy candle inside to make our home feel a little extra cozy. I make a hearty meal. I take the extra time to feel better on the rainy days.
Battling depression is hard every day, no mater the weather. And let me tell you, sometimes this depression is BAD. Maybe I Love the rain because it gives me that little extra nudge to make time for me. Maybe it makes me feel, just for the day, a little more normal.

//... Lost in the waves and lost in thought
Capture this moment and stop the time
I never believed I'd ever be at such peace, at such ease
Praised be to the One I strive to please //...
AFFIRMATIONS WORK! I know I harp on about them a lot, but it’s partly because I also know that that a lot of people don’t do them because it makes them feel silly and they don’t see the point. Well, the reason they don’t work INSTANTLY is because the idea is to change your thought process which takes patience and commitment. Say you have a particular negative thought about yourself and you say this thing to yourself every day, over time that chain in your brain is going to become pretty strong and tough to break as it has now become your belief system. Affirmations work the same way... EXCEPT trying to change a particular thought process takes a lot more effort because we have to consciously reiterate that thought to ourselves until it becomes stronger than the previous thought chain and overrides or smashes it.
In short, affirmations work but you have to commit to reciting them to yourself every day, sometimes multiple times per day to reap the benefits 👊🏻✌🏻
new video is live on my channel now. some of my current favourites. link in bio. and i’m too lazy to find another picture. it’s 2:50am and here i am uploading and writing please send help. there will be another video tomorrow (today). also totally random but go listen to the song eastside with halsey and khalid. i mention it in the video. you’ll be happy. okay i’m delirious. goodnight (not really).
Last month I wrote a piece on why I’m not gentle, despite the fact that I run a course on gentle living and support others to be just that.
I wanted to shine a light on the imperfections and potential failures to break down a barrier to thinking that starting something that you really want doesn't mean you have to be fully ready, and that change (and especially personal growth, development or shifts) is continual, rather than one event and a simple pivot.
There's been a flurry of 'fail fast' and similar articles recently which highlight this message even further - we'll never be fully ready for change, we'll always get things wrong, we'll constantly question and learn and achieve and question and learn and achieve again.
To highlight this message, I've asked some amazing colleagues for their thoughts on this too, and all this week I'll be sharing their contributions.
First is the wonderful @suzyreading
, self-care practitioner and psychologist who shares with us her thoughts on her potential guru status and indeed where going wrong has made her go right. Link to the blog in profile.
So if you're waiting for something to tell you you're ready to start something, change something, do something, whatever it is, perhaps her message this week will be just what you need.
Happy Monday 🌟
Founder and Clinical Director of Womancare, Jolene Hwee, is a psychologist, a business owner and mother who loves herself by scheduling self-care into her week. Whether it is a power yoga session, morning meditation or time to journal, she says: “The periods when we are busy and stressed out are the periods when we need to take care of ourselves more, not less. Self-love is very often doing what we don’t feel like doing, self-love is a discipline.” For more information, she recommends this article on Thought Catalog by Brianna Wiest: “...It is making a spreadsheet of your debt and enforcing a morning routine and cooking yourself healthy meals and no longer just running from your problems and calling the distraction a solution.
It is often doing the ugliest thing that you have to do, like sweat through another workout or tell a toxic friend you don’t want to see them anymore or get a second job so you can have a savings account or figure out a way to accept yourself so that you’re not constantly exhausted from trying to be everything, all the time.” To read more on the article, click the link in Bio.
