Falling alseep to the sound of rain on the tent. Muddy shoes. Muddy clothes. Messy hair. No makeup. No cell phone service. That first cup of coffee in the crisp morning air. Red rock views all around. That grin on my face says it all.

Made a guest appearance on bass with the Moab funk/improv band FMC at a street festival this past Saturday... I hadn't met or heard them before getting on stage, but things went well #IndependentMusic #Moab #ModelsOver50
I have a confession... I’ve been living in Utah for 13 years and I’ve never been to Moab until this past weekend. Running the Canyonlands - The Other Half Marathon was the perfect way to explore Moab. Afterwards, we somehow still had the energy and endurance to explore Arches National Park. We did a easy < 2 mile hike to see some stunning arches.
Skis! While we aren't accepting skis on consignment just yet, we do have great deals on previous season Nordic skis and Boots everyday! Upgrade to metal edges for more control and confidence on the steep sections at Geyser Pass. We are open 8am to 9pm 7 days a week, but free free too give us a call to see when one of our ski specialists will be available for a fitting session. Or visit our website to view most of our inventory.
Day 6. Final Day.
On the final day we started out again in Arches National Park and completed the Fiery Furnace trail. FF is a maze of “narrow sandstone canyons, fins, and natural arches”. It’s estimated at around 2 miles round trip however there is no marked trail and getting lost is unavoidable. Half the fun is trying to find your way out. FF is a permit only trail and is usually hard to book. I think the fact that it wasn’t peak season and bad weather earlier in the week enabled us to get a spot. While we explored through the desert we were constantly reminded by people not to disturb the Biological Soil Crust. BSC is a tiny community of microorganisms that are vital to desert ecology. They stabilize the soil and many of the plants in the desert environment depend on these microorganisms for survival. Something a simple as a footprint will destroy these organisms. It’s amazing how delicate desert ecology is.
After leaving Arches we headed to Canyonlands National Park where we drove through the Island In The Sky to the Grandview trail. On this 2 mile loop we capped the trip off right with some spectacular views.
This trip will go down as one of the best we have done. It was amazing experiencing and exploring these new places with Meg. I honestly wouldn’t want to do it with anybody else. I cannot wait for us to drive our own van out west w the kids so they can also see a first hand view of how tiny and insignificant we are in the universe.

Balanced Rock, Moab Utah. 🏜
Only Wednesday and I'm already itching to get back to the desert!
A fiery evening spent in Dead Horse Point state park
Scrub Jay in Arches National Park.
Been getting back into the gym this month lifting weights, KB’s, steel maces abs clubs with the priority and focus of form, breath, and mindset. It’s a bit humbling as a strong female to drop down in weight and focus on form with light weight only, but I know I need it. I can’t keep going down the road I’ve been on or I’m going to be a wreck soon!! I already and see changes with incorporating a daily durability practice I learned from my time at @onnit.
In this video, I went from 35 to 55 to 65 to 85lb MAX EFFORT! I focused each time on form and keeping equal balance output. It’s hard but rewarding!!! Anyone else back in the gym for the winter? What’s your plans? What’s your goals? I want to hear them!

Does the hiker choose the trail, or the trail the hiker? •
The hike to ‘Double O’ arch is a must if you find yourself in Moab.
I am very excited to be traveling to Louisiana for the first time. Not only that I am also super excited to speak again about this massive collaborative project that I am three years deep into. Thank you! #uranium #uraniummine #moab #nationalpark #collaboration #filmphotography

A reminder to PLEDGE this week to support our amazing community radio station KZMU, without which Science Moab would not be possible. The station relies on you to keep going and any and all pledges are appreciated. Go to kzmu.org to donate or call 435-269-5968.
Pictured here is a behind-the-scenes look at what making Science Moab up at the KZMU station looks like. 🎤 📻 🙌
