Its the day!
Its that time of the year when cricket fans across the globe find themselves glued to their television screens to witness the most fierce rivalry in the game’s storied history.
Its INDIA vs PAKISTAN.
The last time these Asian giants squared off against each other, it was the men in green that came out victorious- IN A DOMINATING FASHION.
India though can take courage from the fact that they dominated throughout the Champions Trophy and had a bad day on a BAD DAY.
Today when these two teams square off in matter of few minutes it will be a totally diffrent affair.
There is no pressure of the final. From the point of the view of the tournament this match is inconsequential.
But hey, Can there be an INDIA PAKISTAN MATCH without pressure or without any consequences? Apparently NO.
India squeezed out a victory yesterday playing hong kong. Did they have enough recovery time? Will they come out with the same intensity? How much will virat’s absence affect india? All this remains to be seen but what we are sure of is that it is going to be an electric evening at ABU DHABI.
This rivalry ladies and gentlemen is way beyond the cricketing field. And when both the teams take their ground today, it will be on full display.
So get ready it's about to go down!
India vs Hong Kong
Indian supporters today received a surprising nail biting session from Hong Kong cricket team as they survived one of the biggest upsets of all times by registering a 26 runs in their Group A match of the Asia Cup 2018 on Tuesday.
Chasing 286 for an upset win Hong Kong were restricted for 259 in their 50 overs. Openers Nizakat khan and Anshuman Rath were the top performers for Hong Kong scoring impressive half centuries and adding up 174 runs for the opening wicket. India then came back through a stunning display from Khallel Ahmed. Yuzvendra Chahal also accompanied the debudant picking up three wickets each.
Earlier, India had finished with a score of 285/7 in their Group A match against Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi. Shikhar Dhawan was the star of the show and struck his 14th One Day International century to help India post a total that should prove too much for Hong Kong. Ambati Rayudu was another one who did well scoring 60. Kinchit Shah was the best Hong Kong bowler picking up three wickets for 39 runs.
So just like Mr. Bhogle said, "It is good to be asked tough questions before a game."
While the whole world was preparing for an blue-green encounter, a team in red and black took the centre stage and stole the spotlight.
Join us tomorrow for grand screening and coverage of India vs Pakistan in SIU Auditorium, Lavale.
