In June of 2014, I read Bryan Stevenson’s book Just Mercy, and it changed my life. Today, I had the immense privilege of visiting his Legacy Museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, which will also, I am sure, leave me forever changed. I’m still processing all that I read, saw, and learned today, and will be doing so for weeks to come, but I just have to say that I am so grateful that a memorial like this exists. I am grateful for people like Bryan Stevenson who encourage tough conversations and provide spaces for public memory to be honored and acknowledged, and who give voice to those that have been so wrongfully silenced and ignored. Thank you to @eji_org
for all of the incredible work you have done and continue to do.
