NFL Offseason Advice - Houston
The Houston Texans have one of, if not, the best QB/WR duo in the league. Deshaun Watson is a young stud who shows improvement every single year. DeAndre Hopkins has proven that he his the best WR in the game and shows it each and every week. However, the Texans are chained down from success due to a weak run game, bad O-line, and lack of depth in the secondary. If the Texans can fill in one of these needs, they should be favorites to win their division. Let’s get started!
The Texans should go with an O-lineman in the first round. Watson was sacked for 62 times last season and unlike Wilson, he can’t carry this team especially with his ACL history. That’s why the Texans need to keep him healthy. Day one should consist of the Texans drafting David Edwards, Yodny Cajuste, or Chris Lindstrom. Now, I know some people would say draft Greedy Williams, Byron Murphy or DeAndre Baker to help fill in the void that Tyrann Mathieu left. Kevin Johnson is constantly hurt and Johnathan Joseph’s contract is up after next season. I just feel like right now you can make a deep rub in the Super Bowl if you get help up front. Greedy Williams could fall in the second round and if that happens, then get him. However, I would maybe go with David Montgomery to be the star RB they need. Alfred Blue was inconsistent and Lamar Miller has been a bust with the Texans. You could blame the line for his woes but damn, he has not been worth the money he was given. His contract is up next year and should be let go if he doesn’t go off this season. So, the Texans should beef up their line, draft a solid DB or RB to fill in the voids those positions have left. If they do, the Texans could a safe bet to make the Super Bowl. Comment below what you think!
