NHRA's Tanner Gray heading to NASCAR.
While the NHRA and NASCAR crossover news most of us expected included Cody Coughlin, NHRA Mello Yello Pro Stock Championship leader Tanner Gray has shockingly announced he will transition to NASCAR racing for 2019.
Gray, 19, has late model races under his belt, bringing experience to the table. Gray will be joining David Gilliland Racing-CROSLEY for the 2019 season, however the team nor the driver were able to release a schedule. Gray is currently expected to run a mix of races which DGR-CROSLEY fields cars in, including NASCAR K&N Pro, ARCA Racing Series, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and one-off late model races.
DGR-CROSLEY also announced Monday, they let go current runner-up in the K&N Pro East standings, Tyler Dippel. Dippel's reason of letting go was not announced, but Dippel had an altercation with teammate Tyler Ankrum after the finish of Saturday's Apple Barrel 150 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, in which, Ankrum clinched the championship.
More updates will be given when available.
