She had such a cute and fun personality! Love her✨💛
- Marilyn Monroe and Jean Harlow both starred in films with Clark Gable, for each of them it would be their last. Interestingly enough, Clark Gable once said of Jean Harlow, "She didn't want to be famous, she wanted to be happy," a quote that can easily be thought of for Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn and Jean longed for happiness throughout their lives, and their costar Clark Gable noticed that.❣️ Top photo is a publicity photo from 'Saratoga' (1937) and the bottom photo is from 'The Misfits' (1961). #marilynmonroe #jeanharlow #clarkgable #marilynmonday

Marilyn Monroe in The Mandolin Sitting (1953).
Fleur Cowles, editor-in-chief of Look magazine, brought Milton to Los Angeles to meet Marilyn. The Mandolin Sitting was the first photo session between the two making them instant friends because she loved his work. Marilyn had sprained her left ankle while filming River of No Return, which was the only reason she was even available for this assignment.

"I want to be a fine actress, and I'd hate to settle for less. As a matter of fact, and for the record, I won't." —Marilyn from Modern Screen Magazine in February 1951.

“The role of Ms. Caswell was very similar to the role I played in The Asphalt Jungle. I didn’t want to do the same thing again, so I worked hard at developing the characters the way I saw it. Darryl Zanuck viewed the first days rushes he immediately offered me a contract and I was back with 20th Century Fox. I began to believe that with all this confidence I was going to become a serious actress.” - Marilyn Monroe on her role in All About Eve to photographer George Barris (1962) 💕
