I’m at the 4 week mark of my 8 week program.
Yes, this is the one that builds in 3 rest days per week. I’m taking one today as I’m still recovering from Sunday funday.
Yes, this is the one that has 30-40 minute workouts, no longer.
Yes, this is the one that builds in cheat days in the nutrition plan (hence Sunday funday)
What does all of that add up to?
I’m down 5.2 lbs and 2.8 inches in 4 weeks!
I had slacked off a bit on my nutrition and wasn’t really following any sort of plan leading up to this one. It was just what I needed to get me excited about the workouts again. The fact that I can work it in around my hectic schedule and not the other way around has been huge for me.

The other day my roommate described me as being “the biggest fat kid inside” because of how much I talk about dessert🤣
If you know me, you know I can’t live without them😭 and tbh I do have some kind of dessert or baked good every. single. day. Even though I try to eat healthy majority of the time, doesn’t mean I don’t make room for my sweets!
Because restricting those foods for me personally, will only make it worse. Of course I make sure not to go overboard because MODERATION, not DEPRIVATION, is 🔑 to long term health. So I think I’ll turn that salad into a doughnut today ;)
This workout may have been delayed by a fishing day but that doesn’t mean I’ve failed or should quit or have to make up a workout or should start all over. 🙄 that’s too much stress!
Having only 4 workouts per week (plus a planned cheat day written in) is perfect for summer fun flexibility and zero guilt! Nobody got time fo’ dat!

My daughter has always had a strong drive to learn all the colors, numbers, what things are called, what things say, what words and signs mean, what letters mean. To the point that it sometimes causes frustration not knowing. We first noticed it because she would record these things into her memory from hereing other people mention them in their conversations or from watching it on an iPad video that she would look up herself, then to our surprise she would repeat the information back to us that we had not taught her when she was a small toddler. It was clear we had to give her the chance to expand on these things! Many school systems keep all children at the same level of development or try to get them to learn something that some aren’t willing to learn in a uniform way yet. Here all children will have the opportunity to expand on those things that are most intriguing to them and in fact are encouraged and given the tools to develop them. Whether it’s reading and writing “early”...art, culinary, physical etc. There is no early or late each child is interested in different things on their own time. Fun win of the day: after the stressful evening I had, I would usually get pizza as the easy comfort food that’ll fix my day. Tonight, I had no craving for pizza, I was excited for our protein and veggies. I’m excited about this shift in mindset! It’s amazing how cravings go away when you stop telling yourself “no!” 😋🥗🍩

Guys, I don’t think you understand how hard I’ve been struggling to achieve any kind of weight loss for the last several months. I can get the scale to go up by that much in one day but going down that much? That hasn’t happened in a LONG time. In fact, it has been going up far more than it’s been going down. I’m definitely feeling justified in my decision to fully commit to this program and back off from keto. I can honestly say that this is the first time I’ve been so by the book when it comes to following the prescribed plan and it’s exciting to see that it works 😂
Dude, after I was done eating for the day I calculated how many calories I’d had (just out of curiosity) and with the preworkout and postworkout supplements I take, I had over 2400 cals! That’s what I’m talking about. I am NOT about deprivation.

Y’all don’t even know 👌🏼 I was made fun of TEN TIMES more when I started getting healthy than when I was overweight and miserable. I kept silent about my healthy lifestyle at the beginning because I was so worried about the rude comments people would make at me, and even more-so, behind my back. When people started asking me what I was doing to look & feel better, they judged my response afterwards. Even though THEY came to ME 🙈
Now I COMPLETELY understand there are some obnoxious healthy people out there, but there’s just as many obnoxious unhealthy people...& we shouldn’t judge the next healthy/unhealthy person based on the person before them. If someone isn’t depriving their body, but is doing something GOOD for it, why on earth would you judge that? 🤔 You’re not born into that lifestyle, everyone has a backstory to why they chose to change...& it usually isn’t pretty 😔 🙏🏼 A man once said, “If you found the cure to a disease would you keep it to yourself? No! So I wasn’t going to take week 3 progress pictures but it’s just part of my Sunday routine. And I’m so glad I did. I ate crap and still made body changes. For years, I used to deprive myself of two things that make me happy...baking and eating the deliciousness that resulted from the baking. I thought that to be “on track,” I needed to only eat clean. When I finally would allow myself treats, I would go crazy, eat wayyyy too much, and then end up feeling guilty...along with having a massive stomach ache. 😫 This cycle lasted for way longer than I would like to admit, but is it wrong to say that I am in a way grateful for that phase as it has helped me to learn so much? 🤷🏻♀️
Through that time in my fitness and health journey (which in reality, wasn’t that long ago), I learned what not to do! I am so happy to be where I am at this moment. I’m currently trying to shed a few pounds, but that doesn’t mean deprivation! 🙅🏻♀️ Don’t get me wrong, I’m still eating all the salads and drinking all the liters of water (hello 10,000 trips to the bathroom a day!), but I’m also enjoying my cookies and chocolate...without any of the guilt!
I know this may seem like a far away magical land for some. Trust me, I have been there! But I am here to tell you that it is possible to have balance. (Also, remember that everyone’s idea of balance is different and that this health/fitness thing is a lifestyle, not a quick fix)
People sometimes look at minimalism as a deprivation lifestyle. You're depriving yourself, your children, etc, etc. The reality is minimalism is about keeping what you use and being purposeful about this stuff you allow in your life- both things and commitments. Instead of feeling deprived by minimalism, I feel as though I've been able to enjoy experiences more and actually use the stuff I have!
