⚛The Albany Rare Metals story, Chapter 2, part one: In The Beginning.
The first part of this story deals with the Bureau of Mines site, so I'm including a little info about the land itself.
The property on the corner of Broadway and Queen was originally a nursery, which may explain the wide variety of tree species that still remain. One tree is particularly iconic--more on that later.
These photos are most likely the earliest existing photos of our neighborhood. At the turn of the century, this little business could have no way of knowing what monumental changes the land would see in the very near future.

I'm going to continue to offset all the chaotic #wavephotos currently being posted of the #Oregon#coastline with this BRAND NEW silky/dreamy/otherworldly image I made at secret beach last November. Stay inspired, my friends! #litbymoonlight
