Always hard at work on our next film 💪
our head lens tech getting busy on a cam follower for a Cooke mini S4. The Cooks Mini S4 have an interesting history, many camera houses don’t stock them, we have a full set with interchangeable front elements which is like two sets in one. Coated or Uncoated. Surgery on all of the Cooke Primes is pretty straightforward if you know what you are doing. They all have a similar construction that translates into in-house service and saves us a great deal of costs in shipping and service which enables us to get our clients out the door the same day a problem is found. Not all camera houses have this capability which is one of the things which helps to set us apart. Kari has been trained in LA, Portland by Cooke and Germany by Leica. She then trains other folks at Koerner Camera so that everyone is up to speed providing service like no other in the Pacific Northwest. #oregonfilm #ompamember #koernercamera #thecookelook @cookeoptics

Significant decisions are made gathered around the craft services table. #coolkids
It’s cold here. It feels weird to be back to the “normal” we’ve experienced our entire lives. Adjusting to life in roasting SE Asia has forced us to change the definition of “normal” weather, activities, clothing, food, lifestyle, and even friends and family. Instead of experiencing the Christmas season through FaceTime and Facebook photos, Emily and I get to be here for a week where decorations, music, food, and very cold (feeling) weather have forced us to re-adjust quickly. Super grateful and happy to back for a short time, but its really really cold.
On the 2nd half of the project the company was a little smaller. Have a great week and thanks for looking and following.
This week was huge for me. It really solidified where and what I see my career being in the future (it's a big amorphous blob of directing, motion graphics, VFX, and cinematography). I had never shot anything longer than a 2day shoot, let alone a whole week. I had never had a 1st or 2nd AC(@nathanieldrew_
), a key grip (Ian Jennings) AND a gaffer(@nathancoltrane
). It took me two full days to finally understand that people are looking to me for my opinion and what I want in the frame. And that they can't read my mind so I have to be able to communicate what's in my head to real words.
Shout all the way out to @shainafierce
for producing the hell out of this. I hope she produces everything I shoot. And @cliftonchandlerworldcreator
For making my shots look great with his amazing set dec and direction.

Special thanks to House Speaker Tina Kotek, Representative Rob Nosse for and Trimet Board Member Lori Bauman coming out for a tour Friday of the proposed Gideon Overcrossing. The crossing is a planned bike and pedestrian bridge which will span the Lightrail Orange Line and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. This bridge will probably force Koerner Camera to move if it is built in its current design. Of equal concern is the introduction of bicyclists and pedestrians to an industrial area where semi trucks are unloaded with forklifts crossing their paths. We have not been presented with any safety studies that we have asked for. The transparency on this project has been non existent. The general consensus of the businesses on 14th is disbelief that this bridge is at 60% design with no input from the neighborhood and businesses. Businesses represented here are K&F Coffee, RapidBind, Sustainable Wood Northwest, Koerner Camera Systems, OMPA, Juliana Lukasik from @atlargefilms
, David Cress, Tim Williams Exective Director @oregonfilm
, Todd Deneffe CEIC(Central Eastside Industrial Council) Board Member, Jamie Dunphy from City Commissioner Chloe Eudaly’s office, Michelle Sprague 35 year neighborhood resident. #trimet @trimet #pbot #pdx @pdx #koernercamera #ompamember #oregonfilm @oregonfilm #trimetorangeline #standupforyourrights #tinakotek

I feel honored to have had the chance to work with such a dedicated group of filmmakers on this project. Kaulder was so much fun to play and I cannot thank @nathanmleon
enough for the oppurtunity to come onboard and bring him to life.
