Planning to make this trip when I'm out. Feeling I've lost the person I was and I'm dedicating it to the people I could have helped but failed them instead.

Two months ago almost to the day, Cowbell, Rainman and I sat on a boulder at mile 806 for about 4 hours deciding whether or not we wanted to cross the majority of the Sierra in the very wintry and somewhat unstable conditions. In the end we decided not to and flipped up to Oregon instead.
As you can see in the first picture, we are back on the same rock at mile 806!
The first time we passed through, the only footsteps in the snow were our own. It's funny to see how close we were to the trail sometimes. Today we found out what the terrain that we blundered over then is actually like without the snow. Always nice to see the 10 ft drop between the rocks that back then was just an even snow field.
So, did we make the right call to turn around?...would it have been a greater accomplishment to have pushed through? Sometimes I do catch myself thinking about the what if. But actually, I had a great time.... so really, it doesn't matter.
Have a great day everybody, wherever you are :)

New kicks! Third pair on the PCT. My shoes are averaging approx. 700 miles each. My second pair of Altra Superior 3.0s took a major beating through the Sierras (hence the big ol’ rip!) and I wore the soles down so thin, my feet started aching regularly. Trying out these Altra Timps— thicker soles. Super stoked about em. Skid also got some new shoes (his fourth pair!)— his first pair of Hokas.
Huge thanks to @bambalamm
for my new shoes! You’re so amazing for being so generous and giving me so much love and support this entire adventure. 😘💕 #pct #pct2018 #pacificcresttrail #altratimp #altrarunning #altra #shoes #girlgonewilderness #thegirlgonewilderness
I forgot to post a pic or video of where I slept last night because I'm a goof. Enjoy.
A lot has happened since my last update! Namely: more hiking (haha) ! Hit 1500 and actually at mile 1599 (Etna) right now! Currently struggling with the possibility of skipping Seiad to Ashland due to fire- a huge bummer because I'll miss the border. I might be able to come back down after Canada or next year when I come back here to do some trailmagic/help trailangels I could do the section. But it's a bummer!! Idk yet tho!
BUT whatever happens it's all a part of my adventure and is exactly what is supposed to happen. And so I shall follow wherever it takes me

Best rest spot. I love the #PCT
. I’ve only ever done small segments of it but seeing traces of it through the San Gabriels makes me feel so connected to something bigger. A bigger adventure of self identity and learning from the natural world. It’s beautiful.🌲✨
Day 12 - Skykomish to a non-lake tentsite. 24 miles. Lingered in Skykomish before getting a quick hitch back on trail. Got into the Alpine Lakes Wilderness which is appropriately named. So many pretty lakes. But so many not pretty bugs. Decided not to camp at any of the lakes because of them. But passed the 200 mile mark!
Day 13 - non-lake tentsite to mountainside tentsite. 20 miles. More meandering through open meadows and Alpine lakes and mountains. Camped at the base of a beautiful snow capped mountain with covered in fog and clouds, nbd.
Day 14 - mountainside tentsite to Snoqualmie. 27 miles. Another beautiful day of hiking. Great weather and pretty sights. Even the bugs weren't that bad. Got to hike on talus for a long while which made me nostalgic for the Sierra. Didn't intend to hike so much today far but the last 7 miles were all downhill and the prospect of vegan curry was too much.
Resupply tomorrow then another long stretch before the next pass.
Group I was hiking with got split up at Skykomish so I'm a solo sobo for a while wah. Thankfully there's enough sights to keep me company.
Happy birthday to my dad and adventure partner! Thank you for always being there for me and teaching me my love and appreciation for the outdoors! -
This photo was taken on a camping trip last year while we were hiking up a mountain. We had come across a sign on our trail that intersected with the PCT. Had to crop the sign out because I can’t give away the name of the secret lake we hiked to ⛰
Nothing says summer like a line of packs on the porch 🌞⛺👣
This week I told my job my intent to take a leave of absence next spring and that I was going to hike from Mexico to Canada. PCT 2019, I’m coming for you ✌🏼
Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining
Day 4, mile 38! 👣 We camped next to a group of five fabulous ladies in their late-sixties who hike every summer together ❤️ Down the trail, their husbands met them at a road intersection, and they gave us ice cream!!🍦Yay for so many sexy trail women!
