My first formal meeting with the in-laws was nerve-wrecking. My parents were supposed to meet his parents for the first time. Couldn’t eat couldn’t sleep for days. The day came and I was panicking like hell. What will his parents say what would mine say would they like eachother blah blah. I wore a red kurta that I got but mom made me change last minute keh dulhan preview nai dena beta koi aur color pehno. Then I wore blue and did some light nude makeup so they would think haye larki makeup ke begair so pyari💁♀️. The meeting went well. Heart pounding I went into the drawing room with juice glasses in a tray trying hard not to trip and fall and as I entered everyone went silent with all eyes on me. I greeted everyone nervously then saw husband-to-be secretly winking at me and bateesi came out a little. Half way serving juices I didn’t realize my hair was falling in one of the glasses and mom screams out beta baal tou peechay kero and everyone starts laughing(so embarrassing had an argument that night with mom keh ap na bolti tou kisi ko pata bi na chalta hmph🤦♀️). Anyways all went went Alhamdulilah. Before leaving my saas-to-be kissed me on my forehead and both cheeks and I was like waahh so much love. And that’s when our saas bahu love story began.
