Every year more than a dozen struggling musicians are introduced in the music market on different platforms sponsored by the leading Multinational Corporations in Pakistan. Several promises are made during these tv shows some of which are fulfilled others are neglected with the course of time. Once introduced, most of them are still waiting for their dreams to come true. One of the major reasons for musicians to fail in this field is the lack of investment. Today as most of the big recording companies are out of business musicians have to bear the cost of the recordings along with the process of creative production on their own. We are hardly investing in our local talent and providing them with international platforms to liaison with musicians around the world. In recent times we have seen only those musicians have been able to sustain in this industry who are earning their livelihood by adopting other professions such as acting or the already established ones are still surviving. So the situation is very bleak as most of them have to compromise on their passion as the society is still facing the dilemma of music been taken as a respectable profession in Pakistan even today. According to some of these talented youngsters lack of budgets and time constraints to pursue their passion in the right manner has adversely affected the quality of their music in many ways. One of the shocking revelations during this conversation was the non availability of professional sound equipment in Pakistan. Pakistani music industry is facing the worst crisis and these musicians are questioning themselves whether there is a future from their creative efforts. Streaming music online can be an option to generate revenue, but the bigger option today is live performance which is not that easy in Pakistan due to high taxes, the security issues and not enough appropriate venues.
