Regrann from @thechelsealady.cfc - CHELSEA star David Luiz unleashed his frustration after his side were held to a 0-0 draw by struggling West Ham. “Of course we are disappointed,” he told the club’s official website after Chelsea dropped their first points of the campaign. “We didn’t play a fantastic game, we didn’t create a lot. It was too slow, moving the ball to create the gaps or our movements without the ball, and that is why we couldn’t score. We know that many teams now are going to play against us this way, with a low block and trying to play on the counter-attack. So there was not a lot of space but it is up to us to try to find a solution.” “The best games are games like that,” says the former Paris St-Germain star. “We are going to play against a fantastic team so we need to rest and be ready for both games.” Luiz also reiterated how tricky the Europa League will be to win this season. “Many people don’t understand how hard it is to win that competition. The level is great. It’s not easy to play. I know because I have played in the Europa League more than once — I also played in it with Benfica. It is never easy to win a competition like this.” #BlueIsTheColour #CFC #CFCFans #CFCFamily #CFCTillIDie #BPL #EPL #PremierLeague #PreSeason #CFCTour #Champions #ComeOnYouBlues #PremierLeagueChampions #ChelseaFC #COYB #KTBFFH #IfItsNotBlueItWillBe #CFCArmy #TheBlues #Chelsea_KTBFFH #ChelseaFans #ChelseaKWT #CFCNews #CFCTransfers #CFCTour #MaurizioSarri #Sarri #GianfrancoZola #davidluiz

Chelsea winger Pedro believes Eden Hazard is closing in on Lionel Messi and deserves to be regarded as one of the best players in the world. ‘Because Eden every year, you show your football and your numbers – score goals, assists, play a lot of minutes, play very good. I don’t know, maybe in a few years Eden can win the golden ball or another thing because he is a very good player. He is a big star. It is very good for the us that Eden is in good form with good confidence, doesn’t lose ball, is dribbling very good, score goals. It is a very good help for the team and when this guy plays like this he is very difficult to stop. He is playing with good confidence and very high potential to score goals, help the team, no pressure but as well in a really good form physically. This is also very important for the team because he is a very important player for the team.’ #BlueIsTheColour #CFC #CFCFans #CFCFamily #CFCTillIDie #BPL #EPL #PremierLeague #PreSeason #CFCTour #Champions #ComeOnYouBlues #PremierLeagueChampions #ChelseaFC #COYB #KTBFFH #IfItsNotBlueItWillBe #CFCArmy #TheBlues #Chelsea_KTBFFH #ChelseaFans #ChelseaKWT #CFCNews #CFCTransfers #CFCTour #MaurizioSarri #Sarri #GianfrancoZola #edenhazard10 #pedro
Frank Lampard is looking forward to facing off against old boss Jose Mourinho when he takes his Derby County side to Manchester United on Tuesday – and they’ve already been communicating in the build-up to the match. ‘I’m looking forward to seeing him. On a personal level, he was a manager who was very influential on my career,’ said Lampard after Derby’s 3-1 win over Brentford. ‘We’ve spoken in the last 24 hours to congratulate me but it was very brief but we talked family. I learned a lot from him and I appreciate it.’ On the task of stopping United, he continued: ‘We know what we’re coming up again. A great Manchester United team that’s been put together. The fact we’re on telly against one of the best teams in the Premier League is a challenge for us. If we put in the energy we did today then we’ll give a good account of ourselves. We must do it because it’s going to be a very tough ask. What we can’t do is go there and walk away and say we should’ve done this or that. We have to give everything and make sure it doesn’t pass you by. Whether we can win or not is a very tough order but we need to have our fans coming away proud of the team.’ #BlueIsTheColour #CFC #CFCFans #CFCFamily #CFCTillIDie #BPL #EPL #PremierLeague #PreSeason #CFCTour #Champions #ComeOnYouBlues #PremierLeagueChampions #ChelseaFC #COYB #KTBFFH #IfItsNotBlueItWillBe #CFCArmy #TheBlues #Chelsea_KTBFFH #ChelseaFans #ChelseaKWT #CFCNews #CFCTransfers #CFCTour #MaurizioSarri #Sarri #GianfrancoZola #franklampard #josemourinho
Chelsea dropped their first points of the season against West Ham but Jorginho set a new Premier League record. And the £57 million summer signing set a new Premier League record by registering 191 touches during the game – which is more than any other player since records began in the 2003/04 campaign. The Italy international also attempted 180 passes against West Ham – an average of one every 30 seconds – which is more than any other player since Premier League records began. #BlueIsTheColour #CFC #CFCFans #CFCFamily #CFCTillIDie #BPL #EPL #PremierLeague #PreSeason #CFCTour #Champions #ComeOnYouBlues #PremierLeagueChampions #ChelseaFC #COYB #KTBFFH #IfItsNotBlueItWillBe #CFCArmy #TheBlues #Chelsea_KTBFFH #ChelseaFans #ChelseaKWT #CFCNews #CFCTransfers #CFCTour #MaurizioSarri #Sarri #GianfrancoZola #jorginho
Maurizio Sarri admits Eden Hazard found it difficult to thrive in Chelsea’s goalless draw against West Ham because Olivier Giroud received little service. Asked if Hazard had more attacking intent against West Ham, Sarri replied: ‘Not in the first half. Better in the second half. It was very difficult to play inside. They were cutting off very well every kind of pass for Giroud. We needed two wingers, I think. Hazard did very well in the last 25 minutes, more on the right than the left, but it was really very difficult today for the striker and it was very difficult for the two wingers.’ #BlueIsTheColour #CFC #CFCFans #CFCFamily #CFCTillIDie #BPL #EPL #PremierLeague #PreSeason #CFCTour #Champions #ComeOnYouBlues #PremierLeagueChampions #ChelseaFC #COYB #KTBFFH #IfItsNotBlueItWillBe #CFCArmy #TheBlues #Chelsea_KTBFFH #ChelseaFans #ChelseaKWT #CFCNews #CFCTransfers #CFCTour #MaurizioSarri #Sarri #GianfrancoZola #edenhazard10
EDEN HAZARD’s Chelsea team-mates Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have been blasted for letting him down with their profligacy in front of goal. And BBC pundit Martin Keown thinks the two are part of the reason Chelsea won’t win the league title over Manchester City or Liverpool because Maurizio Sarri’s team do not share goals around the team enough. “Hazard’s the goalscorer and the other two [Morata and Giroud] haven’t joined the party yet, no goals [sic: Morata has one] so far. That’s almost criminal. You need a front pair who can score. Hazard, it wasn’t quite working for him, but Morata had a great opportunity. He comes off the bench, he’s got to be ready to take that chance and he didn’t. It’s not quite happening for that front two. This is why they won’t be champions but they’re not far away. The manager’s saying they’re a year away from being there but that’s that cutting edge.” And Keown also suggested that Sarri needs to continue to learn the league, with Chelsea having looked jaded after six of the players who started in Europe days earlier having played at West Ham. The ex-Arsenal defender added: “Maybe him [Sarri] understanding the work-load as well [will help them compete for the title]. He played quite a strong team in midweek and then they’ve got Liverpool to come now twice, mid-week game and then next weekend.” #BlueIsTheColour #CFC #CFCFans #CFCFamily #CFCTillIDie #BPL #EPL #PremierLeague #PreSeason #CFCTour #Champions #ComeOnYouBlues #PremierLeagueChampions #ChelseaFC #COYB #KTBFFH #IfItsNotBlueItWillBe #CFCArmy #TheBlues #Chelsea_KTBFFH #ChelseaFans #ChelseaKWT #CFCNews #CFCTransfers #CFCTour #MaurizioSarri #Sarri #GianfrancoZola

'I'm very proud to lead the team,' says Azpilicueta, citing Terry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba as the senior pros from whom he learned. 'When I came here, you're ambitious and I had a chance to learn from some big players in the dressing room.' Terry has previously likened him to Lampard in his consistency for Chelsea and Azpilicueta said: 'This comparison is very big because all of these players are a big part of Chelsea history and they won amazing titles. To have had all of them around in the dressing room, to see how they were competing, the hunger they had winning trophies; they always wanted more, in every training session. You learn a lot. And on the pitch that helps you in different situations.' 'I played a lot of times with John when I was left-back. The competitiveness, a big part is natural; you have it or you don't have it. But another part is when you see people with experience and they still compete, that inspires you to do so the same and win all the trophies that you can and grow the history of the club.' #BlueIsTheColour #CFC #CFCFans #CFCFamily #CFCTillIDie #BPL #EPL #PremierLeague #PreSeason #CFCTour #Champions #ComeOnYouBlues #PremierLeagueChampions #ChelseaFC #COYB #KTBFFH #IfItsNotBlueItWillBe #CFCArmy #TheBlues #Chelsea_KTBFFH #ChelseaFans #ChelseaKWT #CFCNews #CFCTransfers #CFCTour #MaurizioSarri #Sarri #GianfrancoZola #ceasarazpilicueta #JohnTerry26 #captainleaderlegendjohnterry26
'I prefer to defend as far as possible up the pitch,' says Azpilicueta, 'It's different and you can see we press very high, the defensive line is very high but that's what we want. We want to be dominant in the game and recover the ball as quick as possible and enjoy the ball when we have it.' Azpilicueta's reasoning is that the high line keeps the opposition strikers far from the Chelsea penalty area. 'You have the striker where you want him, as far as possible from the goal. These days, even when you are in the box you cannot feel safe because the quality the strikers have. It's more complicated to defend there.' 'It is different,' says Azpilicueta. 'But it helps that he (Sarri) tells you very clearly what he wants and we analyse every game to see where we can improve. Defensively he says we want to be looking at the ball the whole time, high pressing. We're all working in training to get it as good as possible. Even though we had a good start, I think we can still improve. We're a very good team. We've been working very hard to get into that new idea of football. It is still September so hopefully there is some room for improvement.' 'The club always checked we were doing well at school because we all know how hard it is to reach the top level. There are a lot who don't reach the highest level.' Azpilicueta, it seems, was doing fine. 'I stayed at school until 18. When you're a kid, Osasuna is your club, from your home town. I was going to them every game. And then I was a 17-year-old making my debut when I was at school. Of course, all my friends were watching. I would go to the stadium with my school friends to watch the games and then a few days later, I was playing!'
Pedro has allayed fears he suffered a serious injury during Chelsea’s Europa League victory over PAOK Salonika. Chelsea fans were fearing that Pedro would be set for a spell on the sidelines following the injury but he has taken to Instagram to allay the concerns. Following the match, Sarri was unable to provide an extensive update on Pedro’s fitness but said he did not think the situation was serious. ‘I don’t know exactly the situation,’ the Blues manager said. ‘I spoke for a few seconds, but that probably it is not a serious injury.’ #BlueIsTheColour #CFC #CFCFans #CFCFamily #CFCTillIDie #BPL #EPL #PremierLeague #PreSeason #CFCTour #Champions #ComeOnYouBlues #PremierLeagueChampions #ChelseaFC #COYB #KTBFFH #IfItsNotBlueItWillBe #CFCArmy #TheBlues #Chelsea_KTBFFH #ChelseaFans #ChelseaKWT #CFCNews #CFCTransfers #CFCTour #MaurizioSarri #Sarri #GianfrancoZola #pedro
Maurizio Sarri admits he will have to rest stars such as Eden Hazard even more often as the Europa League goes on. F ormer Napoli boss warned: “As you know, for an English team, it is very difficult to play in the Europa League with the Premier League rules. In Italy, it is different. In Italy, after this match, we would play for sure on Monday night [not on Sunday, when the Blues visit West Ham ]. In England, we cannot ask this, so we have to play after 64 hours. It’s not so easy. In this moment, maybe it is not a great problem, because we have played only six matches.Maybe in two, three or four months, it will be a problem. First of all, I hope to be in the Europa League in three or four months. Maybe then I have to rest many players on Thursdays... five, six, seven at a time.” He said: “I didn’t expect that when I came to England. I am surprised. In Naples, the first month was very difficult. Of course, I know that the Premier League is very competitive. I know that, in the future, probably, I will have to face more difficulties.” Starting with West Ham, of whom Sarri said: “They are a very good team. I think the position in the table of West Ham is not reality.” #BlueIsTheColour #CFC #CFCFans #CFCFamily #CFCTillIDie #BPL #EPL #PremierLeague #PreSeason #CFCTour #Champions #ComeOnYouBlues #PremierLeagueChampions #ChelseaFC #COYB #KTBFFH #IfItsNotBlueItWillBe #CFCArmy #TheBlues #Chelsea_KTBFFH #ChelseaFans #ChelseaKWT #CFCNews #CFCTransfers #CFCTour #MaurizioSarri #Sarri #GianfrancoZola
Pedro reckons unbeaten Chelsea have all the hallmarks of his old Barcelona side. “The team is better than last season,” Pedro said. “This coach has a very good idea to press, to attack, to play, to have more players between the lines, to create chances, and to play with a lot of possession of the ball. This is very good. With Sarri we are running a lot but it is different because all the time you press really high. With Antonio, we were maybe more compact but we defended always in our own half. That means that when you recover the ball to attack, you have a very long way to the opposition goal. With Sarri, when you recover the ball you are in very good position to attack. You are close to the goal to score, to create chances. It is the most important thing and the most important difference from last season to this season. It is a very good change for the team. You can see it is better from the results we are getting. It is really the same idea as Barcelona under Pep Guardiola. They (Sarri and Guardiola) are very similar in their ideas, their attacking ideas are the same.” “I’m very happy with my start but the important thing is to get points. The start is very good for the team and this is the way to continue so we can fight for the title. It is very early to speak about this but this way is the right way.” #BlueIsTheColour #CFC #CFCFans #CFCFamily #CFCTillIDie #BPL #EPL #PremierLeague #PreSeason #CFCTour #Champions #ComeOnYouBlues #PremierLeagueChampions #ChelseaFC #COYB #KTBFFH #IfItsNotBlueItWillBe #CFCArmy #TheBlues #Chelsea_KTBFFH #ChelseaFans #ChelseaKWT #CFCNews #CFCTransfers #CFCTour #MaurizioSarri #Sarri #GianfrancoZola #pedro
CHELSEA star Mateo Kovacic admits he’s much happier at Stamford Bridge following his move from Real Madrid. “It was difficult when I was playing less,” he told The Sun. “Now I am involved more and it helps me a lot. I was 18 when I went to Inter and then Madrid at 21. Maybe it was a bit too fast.” Following his move to Chelsea in the summer, Kovacic said: “I am really happy and excited to be here at Chelsea. It is an amazing feeling. I will try to do my best for this club. It is a new league for me, the beginning is always tough. But I am sure the coach and my new team-mates will help me and I am looking forward to a great season.” #BlueIsTheColour #CFC #CFCFans #CFCFamily #CFCTillIDie #BPL #EPL #PremierLeague #PreSeason #CFCTour #Champions #ComeOnYouBlues #PremierLeagueChampions #ChelseaFC #COYB #KTBFFH #IfItsNotBlueItWillBe #CFCArmy #TheBlues #Chelsea_KTBFFH #ChelseaFans #ChelseaKWT #CFCNews #CFCTransfers #CFCTour #MaurizioSarri #Sarri #GianfrancoZola #MateoKovacic
Eden Hazard is benefiting from Chelsea's system under Maurizio Sarri but the best is still to come, says assistant coach Gianfranco Zola. "Eden is a fantastic player and is getting to have more maturity when he plays so the results are mainly due to his qualities," Zola told Chelsea TV ahead of their game against West Ham on Sunday, live on Sky Sports. "Of course he's the type of player that it can benefit him a lot because you have a lot of the ball, close the opposition's goal and in these conditions Eden can take a big advantage. think he's still not at his best. The more he plays in and understands the system, he's going to be even more effective." #BlueIsTheColour #CFC #CFCFans #CFCFamily #CFCTillIDie #BPL #EPL #PremierLeague #PreSeason #CFCTour #Champions #ComeOnYouBlues #PremierLeagueChampions #ChelseaFC #COYB #KTBFFH #IfItsNotBlueItWillBe #CFCArmy #TheBlues #Chelsea_KTBFFH #ChelseaFans #ChelseaKWT #CFCNews #CFCTransfers #CFCTour #MaurizioSarri #Sarri #GianfrancoZola #edenhazard
