Then aim for self improvement as well as asthetics! - - Had a bit of a lower day yesterday which I previously would have just ‘self pittyed’ with a bar of galaxy 🙄 (still sounds gd tho lol). Where as now I’m constantly asking my mind & body why? 🧠❔ - - What’s different? What’s changed? Cardio had gone up & I’d had an amazing weekend with a much higher activity level on top & a little less sleep! So I knew it was changes happening! As soon as I’d joined the dots I felt more in control knowing the answer. 😬 My point? Sometimes knowing why we feel a certain way can help to break it! Don’t sit & dwell! ❤️ It's official.... That's a rap ... for 2018 season!!!! After meeting with my coach @ironaddiction officially I am in off-season until next year! I am very grateful and blessed for progress I made this year. Another successful year under my belt of course huge thanks to my coaches #ironaddiction helping me thru process and believing in me! After 13 shows in 2 1/2 years With very little time inbetween this is first time I'm taking whole year Off and going straight into building season I'm excited to see what I can accomplish and changes I can make in one year!! When you finally decide to start making a healthy lifestyle a priority, it’s VERY important you listen to your body no matter what goal you’re trying to accomplish. ☝🏽 - For me, if I’m craving whole eggs, I’ll eat them. If I’m craving a donut, I’ll go out and buy one. If I’m craving a cold one 🍺, I’ll drink one. It’s all about listening to your body and indulging but not over indulging. - Allowing yourself a little treat here and there isn’t going to hurt you. I’ve found that by ignoring your cravings you’re just going to end up binging or continuing to crave whatever it is you’re craving. Which is why 9 times out of 10 people don’t stick to this lifestyle. EAT your sweets, EAT your savory, DRINK a drink. But do it within moderation and continue to fuel and live healthy. - For brunch I was craving healthy fats & good sources of protein. 5 tips to get back on track after a night full of fun: - 1. Sleep. It’s so important to let your body rest & heal itself after a night out. Think of your body as a battery, you need to let your mind and your body recharge in order to function & be more productive the next day. - 2. Drink LOTS of water. The most important thing you can do is detox your body and remove all the bad toxins from it. **try adding fresh lemon for a metabolism boost - 3. Eat clean. Most of us either 1. Feel guilty from the night before, or 2. Feel like we need to fix our cravings from a night out with a plate full of pancakes the next morning, which have no nutritional value at all. Swap the cakes for 2 slices of ezekial toast, 2 whole eggs, greens, and half an avocado and fuel your body and brain with all the healthy fats, carbs, and protein your body needs to heal itself! - 4. Sweat it out 💦. Sometimes this is a hard one for me to follow if I’m not feeling my best the next day. But, when working out, it can help sweat out all the nasties and keeps me motivated for the upcoming week to achieve my fitness goals. - 5. Take your vitamins and probiotics. I lose a lot of important nutrients and vitamins after a night out. Which explains why I’m not feeling the best the next day. Probiotics, vitamins, and electrolytes are things you need to resupply in your diet. Although I enjoy eating plant based - I still will eat fish occasionally to incorporate healthy omega-3’s and extra fats & proteins (I know I can use supplements but this is my diet and what works best for me, do what works best for you) 😌 - Lately I’ve been reading studies, listening to podcasts, and doing research on a lower carb, high fat diet. For me, when I intake carbs (not including vegetables & fruits), especially processed carbs my body craves more and I’m never sated or feel full. This causes me to eat way more than I should (which I struggle with because I have a bottomless pit for a stomach 😔) and I end up feeling foggy & sick from my blood sugar levels spiking. 😩 - So now, I’m incorporating more fats into my diet which transforms into free fatty acids (ketones) which my body will use as an energy source. This diet has been proven to give you lasting energy, remove fat, keep you feeling fuller for longer, and keeping your mind clear. Fun fact: this diet can be veganized or used with meat. But I prefer to keep it as plant-based as possible and incorporate fish & eggs when my body is craving it! ✨ - So far increasing my fats (coconut oil, coconut milk, olive oil, cheeses, vegan cheeses, vegan meats, fish, avocado, etc) has me feeling great! I don’t have the urge to crave or even overeat on carbs such as bread, donuts, cookies, chips, crackers, and even white rice! I will keep you updated on how this eating lifestyle is going!! As well as if I see changes in my body. - I’m looking at about 5-10% carbs, 50-70% fats, 20-30% protein daily for my macros. So here is my first meal and the macros: smoked salmon, 2 eggs, spinach, broccoli, olive oil, avocado, and mozzarella cheese! Sweet & Savory Chickpea red curry 🍛 - INGREDIENTS: 1 1/4 tsp Red curry powder 1/4 tsp powdered ginger 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp thyme 1/2 teas paprika 1/2 tsp cumin 2 tablespoons of olive oil 4 garlic cloves 1 tablespoon of minced ginger 1 Small onion 1 can of stewed tomatoes 1 can of drained and rinsed, chickpeas 1 cup of frozen peas 1 cup of almond milk Couple dashes of pink salt 2 tablespoons of agave 1 tablespoon of tomato paste Sprinkle cilantro - 🔹1. On medium heat, take your curry powder, ginger, cinnamon, thyme, paprika, and cumin and roast for about 5-7 minutes in a medium pan 🔹2. In a food processor or blender, dice your garlic, ginger, and onions. add it into the pan of seasonings along with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. 🔹3. Using the blender again, blend your can of stewed tomatoes until smooth and add into the pan. Mix everything together! 🔹4. Add in 1 cup of almond milk and two tablespoons of agave and mix. 🔹5. Add in your 1 cup of frozen peas and 1 can of drained and rinsed chick peas. Stir and bring everything to a boil. 🔹6. Once brought to a boil add in some pink Himalayan sea salt and 1 tablespoon of tomato paste and stir together. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 5-10 minutes. 🔹7. Sprinkle in some fresh cilantro & done - Serve over rice or with a slice of pita bread 🥖 Or even by itself! - This dish is spicy, sweet, and savory. Not to mention it’s vegan friendly & amazing for your health! Yep, not eggs 🤷🏼‍♀️) - vegan sausage - sautéed garlic, onion, spinach, and shiitake mushrooms 😍 - &&& some hot sauce of course 🌶 - 🔸TOFU SCRAMBLE RECIPE:🔸 1) 3 oz of extra form tofu 2) 2 tsp of nutritional yeast 3) 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder 4) 1 tsp of garlic powder 5) pinch of paprika 6) salt & pepper - 🔹crumble tofu into a pan using your fingers 🔹add in all your seasonings and mix until it becomes a yellowish color 🔹cook until warm. DONE! - This meal is full of healthy fats, carbs, and protein 💪🏾 all the good macros to keep me full & provide myself with extra energy for the day!!
