All true followers of Christ are called to call out those who make false claims and teach false teachings even as Jesus Christ called out the Pharisees, etc.
So I cannot shirk my duty as His humble servant and let this go unaddressed.
In this address by an #LDS
and his wife, there are many thing that need to be addressed.
First, the use of these childish #shaming
techniques is something I hope that most mature grown adults will take notice of. I am, in some ways, shocked that the talk the Renlund's gave was approved by the HQ of #TheChurchOfJesusChristOfLatterDaysSaints
before it was presented.
This is nothing other than an immature #bullying
tactic - making fun of someone who has legitimate questions.
They are attempting to make those who have questions look like #fools
or not sound-minded and not using their God-given right to think critically about the information that is presented so one can 'judge righteously." Also, the point in where Sister Renlund asks the questions "Would you go to someone who is broke and in debt for financial advice?..." and then the audience erupts into laughter, like you would have to be a fool to do that (again shaming tactics). The more I watched this the more I thought of the vision Lehi had described in the Book of Mormon - the Great and Spacious Building.
Elder and Sister Renlund along with others, are standing there in those big church buildings, in their pretentious piety, pointing their fingers at those who have #questions
and calling them fools (in other words) and laughing at them.
Does this not sound like those in the Great and Spacious Building who are laughing and pointing their fingers at the ones who choose to follow The Real Jesus? ... continued in comments.
