Keeping with the theme of dedicating my free cake to the ladies or lack thereof. 😂😂😂
Hatcher Pass, Alaska... located in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley between the towns of Palmer and Willow. Hatcher Pass is a state park and offers year round activities in the mountains and amazing views of "The Valley"
Originally started as a mining claim, Robert Lee Hatcher eventually sold some of his land near Independence mine to the State of Alaska to preserve the historical mines from the 1930s and 1940s, for us to view. Definitely a Great spot to check out in the Top Ten, and one of our personal favorites!

Road Trip, Kyrg Style — Part III: •••
There wasn’t much traffic on the road to Töö Ashuu Pass, just our SUV and a handful of Chinese semi-trailers. It was early on a weekday morning in February, and we were headed towards the local resort for a quick ski. It was snowing. The valley was socked in. Visibility alternated between complete whiteout and nearly complete whiteout. What little traffic existed slowed to a stop as a man on horseback herded a flock of sheep down the highway.
After a couple of hours skinning up and skiing down Töö Ashuu, we packed up the car, headed over the pass and began the drive back to Bishkek. Hundreds of years ago, Töö Ashuu was said to be the most important pass on the Great Silk Road at 11,200 feet high. For us, it was a series of hairpin turns and mountain vistas. Once we left the Suusamyr Valley, the clouds broke; the sun came out, and the Grateful Dead played on and on—the music never stopped.

My new "always in the car" accessory to keep all my camera gear charged when I'm stuck in the middle of no where. Number one regret is not having found @jackeryusa

I’m not sure why i’ve been dwelling on this whole concept of taking responsibility lately. Maybe it’s because the generation I grew up in, the one that got to take cell phones to school, get graded on a curve so that no one gets their feelings hurt for not having studied, had optional sports attendance, got 200 points for the correct spelling of ones own name on the SATs and who steered the social media revolution into a space where we can all be talking heads and put absolutely anything out there without taking any responsibility for its repercussions because, well, it’s just a tweet on Pakistani politics of which I haven’t a damn clue or just a vlog about alternative healing diets from an electrical engineering grad because who needs to know anything about anything these days before giving someone else advice on it, that generation are now 30 somethings and i’m not too sure we’ve ever known responsibility beyond theoretical conceptualization ... Or maybe i’m just feeling a little gassy and decided to vent it out this way instead of causing panic in the restaurant. #lifehappensoutdoors
I hope these guys weren’t to busy today as the storm hit the west coast.
Hats off to the Lifeboat crews. Watched these guys last week brave some stormy seas on a rescue.
