On a wet winter’s day...
I was given the recipe for this Eintopf soup by my gorgeous friend Esther, who in turn, was given it by her German grandmother. My version is a little off-piste, made with a rich homemade chicken stock I had stored away in the freezer, and a chunkier cut of veg, for no better reason than the fact that I was chopping them in a frenzy at 7:40pm with 3 ravenous children snapping at my heels. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Im not sure about you, but this December feels like a treadmill on full speed that I dare not try and jump off for fear of going splat on life’s perceptibly smudge-free Christmas window . But sometimes, at the end of a long day, you just need to wrap your hands around a warm bowl of soup, and say hang it Santa, I’m pulling the emergency brake.
Just be sure you’ve finished your soup, have a nice glass of wine at the ready and are in the vicinity of a comfy sofa to land on. .

Where I was all this time. Well just as busy. No, not Christmas stress. I'm not doing that anymore for years. But busy working, fun projects and make it at home sweet and cozy for Christmas. Don't have a Christmas tree yet 🙀 Hopefully, this will change today. Hubby is in Canada for work and that gives me the perfect time to do the Christmas decoration the way I like. Haha. For now first a fast healthy breakfast. Yogurt pistachio with raspberry. And a smoothie with raspberry. Happy Thursday

! I last went in 2015, and I wanted to go again before they left Sydney (especially since it’s just two blocks down from our apartment and we could roll home if needed 🤣). Alexander went with matched wines, while I tried the non-alcoholic pairings. The evening was altogether decadent and delicious! 😍💖 1. Appetising appetisers / 2. My non-alcoholic ‘Sakura mule’ to go with the appetisers / 3. Yellow fin tuna with Japanese chilli, fromage blanc, egg yolk, and fried katsuobushi - I loved all the textures of this dish! / 4. Wagyu zabuton with pickled myoga and Alexander’s new favourite thing: nori mustard! We’re going to try making our own! / 5. Venison with shiitake, artichoke, miso, and nori - the meat was so tender! / 6. Alexander’s Perrot-Minot Pinot Noir to go with the venison - I actually really enjoyed this one! / 7. Pearl and Pokéball! / 8. Snowy pearl! / 9. Sepia’s signature chocolate forest - I had this back in 2015, and loved it just as much this time! / 10.
